Do We Really Need Expos Like E3

Each June of every year, the whole game’s industry travels en masse to Los Angeles for E3, the western
world’s biggest videogame conference in order to show and see the hottest titles around.

Since 1995, thousands of gaming geeks, doesn’t matter the age teen or adult use to visit this expo. E3 is
basically a trade show not a game fair. It’s is still the number one event for major game announcements
and people like us have many expectations from this expo.

Well!, we find this expo as a fun fair, it’s okay but the main fact is that thousands of dollars are spent every
year for this three days trade show. Many people come and pay a visit and purchase games, their
merchandise, consoles and even more things. They are only spending this money for the fun and useful
time pass. Okay! Don’t get furious, I am not against playing and purchasing games and all. I just want to
say that there are many other ways to utilize your time in more hygienic way.

As I told earlier, that I am not opposing game but the real thing is we are addicted to game or say we are
under game’s control. Big companies like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo had hypnotized us in such a way
that it is very hard to make ourselves free from their control.

People like us waste theirs preciously earned dollar in games and all. Millions or say billions dollar trade
is done by these expos. These fair are so much highly engrossed in gamer’s mind they even flew overseas
to attend this expo. Country like America, do a huge business by hosting these expos.

There is also an advantage of these expos that many big announcements are done and more releases,
press conferences are also done and that too in a span of only three golden days.

But, if you follow my vision, then you will find that expos are senseless and totally a wastage of time and
hard earned money.

Now, the big question arose that “Where should these game’s releases and announcements be done”?
Well!, you may have expecting a tight answer but it’s answer is simple/ Companies should make theirs
online platform i.e. website, forums, blogs, videos to release and for announcements.

They can also opt
for a live streaming method i.e. telecasting it’s release completely live.
If all companies start opting these methods then there would be no need for expos like E3. But, I am sure
that you all are still in favour of expos.

Well, I have written my vision and I also want to know yours visions too.

Yes because it's exciting! Love conference season!

That's a pretty dumb reason.

People have the right to spend their money the way they want and to sit there and say someone's wasting their time and money buying games at an expo or going to an expo well that's entirely up to them

I mean by that logic why even bother spending money on anything that would be considered a waste

Also going to conventions is fun regardless of wasting time people enjoy other people's companion. Sometimes it's a yearly event that people do and it's the one time of year they get to see each other.

It's like saying why do people go to sporting events when they can watch at home?? Its a different experience then just sitting at home in front of a screen. You go with your friends to have a good time. Play some games, talk to devs then go out to party or checkout the city. If I had the money I would go.
