Why the XBOX 360 or PS3 is Still a Sensible Buy

If your gaming curiosity extends beyond the smartphone gaming scene, there are only two options for
you to consider: either you pick up a console that has a lifespan of almost a decade or you invest in a PC
that requires upgrades every few years to be able to play the latest games at maximum settings. Does it
make sense to purchase a PS3 or an Xbox 360? I have five reason why we think it makes sense to pick up
a PS3 or an Xbox 360.

A PS4 today costs roughly `32,990 and an Xbox One starts at about `34,990 approx. That’s a lot of money!
Not to mention the fact that a brand new AAA game will set you back `4,000 or `3,500 approx. So unless
you can afford the crème de la crème you may want to consider your options. A PS3 with 12GB storage
has an MRP of `16,990 approx. Similarly, the Xbox 360 is available for `12,990 for the 4GB variant with one
game free.

The games library of the PS3 and Xbox 360 is huge! To put things into perspective think about the fact
that games released from say 2007 to those released as recently as 2015 are available for you to binge
play if you invest in any of these old consoles. A lot of games that defined the PS3 and Xbox 360 are selling
at full retail on the PS4 and Xbox One in their remastered avatar.

If you think about it, you will be playing
some of the same games that current console generation gamers are playing, at a fraction of the price.

Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 support online gaming and have subscriptions that give you free games
each month. If you are a PlayStation Plus member or a subscriber of Xbox Live Gold, you will have access
to free games each month. Since the PS3 and Xbox 360 are old consoles. If you are comfortable buying
games digitally, you can get some games at a great discount if you are a PS Plus or an Xbox Live Gold
member.

Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 act as the ideal entertainment boxes to sit under your TV. The consoles
support Plex as well. With the launch of Netflix, you will be able to subscribe to the service and enjoy it
from the comfort of the PS3 and Xbox 360 via the downloadable app.

The PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect have a small library of games, but they are fun especially when
you have a few friends over who are non-gamers. Motion gaming is a great family experience too.

Well! You might have decided till now.

Picked up a xbox 360s recently for $99 with a 250gb hard drive included and I love it.

I'm trying real hard to find a new PS3 for a decent price.............they are almost the same price as the Xbox One new and I would probable get two or three games with the Xbox One. I just wana play Demon's Souls.

You might have to break down and get one used, which I've seen locally for about $100. Haven't seen any new ones in awhile as they may have been discontinued? I really wanted to pick up one of the white superslims a while back but didn't get to and now they're a solid 30-50 bucks more than the stock ones preowned.

I'm still rocking both of mine. I will make the jump to the next generation this fall. Still have a backlog to work through.

IRetrouk3601d ago

If i were you i would just wait a lil longer an see wen these new upgraded ones are coming.

Fist4achin3601d ago

That's a good idea as I am a patient person. I think the new consoles will be out this fall for a holiday push. Maybe there will be a good deal?!

Hopefully, will be getting all 3 myself, hopefully they stagger the releases lol

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Price Update

Starting today, Game Pass Ultimate drops from $29.99 to $22.99 a month. PC Game Pass will also drop from $16.49 to $13.99 a month. Prices may vary by region.

Beginning this year, future Call of Duty titles won’t join Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. New Call of Duty games will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass during the following holiday season (about a year later), while existing Call of Duty titles already in the library will continue to be available.

can't wait to hear how this is spun negatively.

Its nice there is some kind of drop... but is that all they really value CoD to be, a lousy $7 a month?

I was hoping it would drop by $10.

Can’t wait to hear how this will be spun extremely positive. 🤣
I wonder why knowing Microsoft thick head something must has happened in the background in the levels of Xbox one and Kinect 🤷🏿

New Xbox Boss the 🐐?

In my region, it’s still more expensive than it was before the last price hike, but it’s a far more viable price point.

Losing Call of Duty from the service, honestly, has zero effect on me, and given they chose to make it so, it’s probably not the big seller they originally thought. Overall, it’s really good news, but I still think they have work to do on the tier structure, having Premium and PC at the same price point with different features feels odd.

Yep take COD out. Them waiting a year is interesting but it make sense. They don't want certain ppl waiting 4 to 6 months they want fomo and maximum sales. Wait a year while the new one releases.

Ok so far so good.
