.Well guys it's almost time for GTAIV. The game thats supposed to change next-gen the way it changed gaming on xbox and ps2.The so called sand box game.First off I'm not a gta hater.No i have bought everyone except the psp titles.I think it will be a great game,as i have yet to play it,just i dont think it will be a generation defining title.Here is my reasons why i think gta iv will not live up to gta3
Let's all think back to the ps2 days before gta3. Most of the games were a closed scripted experience. You could only go where the story wanted to take you.Everyone at the time,me included,were dreaming of a game where you go do what you wanted.Then the previews of GTA3 came along.Man did it blow me away.Although even looking at the pictures in the magazines and on the net at the time couldn't show me the new experience of gaming i was about to explore.I bought it the day it came out.I remember me and my wife were going out to diner that night and i was just gonna pop it in and try.We couldn't put it down.Anyway that game let you do almost anything. There was no game like it out. It turned ps2 sells on its head cause it was the only game at the time like it.Now think ahead to GTAIV.I think it has very good graphics,but will it blow you away like the first time you played GTA3.Did Super Mario Sunshine blow you away like the first time you played Mario 64. Thats what i mean.
Lets take a look a this gens console wars.You have microsoft, who have invested 50 Million, who is banking on GTAIV to suceed and be this consoles big title.They have been banking on it since day one.Peter Moore even got a tattoo for oct. 07,whoops,.They are hoping you'll love it and buy the downloadable content.Then we have Sony ,who's own PS3 has been lagging this gen, who seems to be taking a more laid back approach to the whole saga.They didn't try to buy the exclusive rights this gen,nor did they try and get super exclusive content for this game.Now here is my take in which some of you will scream fanboy,but i think GTAIV won't be a super sucess after a few months on the market. In fact i think that the multiplayer mode will only be the saving factor since it is a new addition and may be very good. People are gonna grow bored with it and sales will slow,and downloadable content had better be some type of vice city if they want to people to buy it. I think sony is thinking like i am.People played GTA to death last gen and just because it was popular last gen doesn't mean this gen it will be. Sony got exclusive rights on rockstars newest francise to hit in 09 sometime. i think that game has a 50/50 chance on being the next gta3 to explode. Like i said i was the biggest gta fanboy there was,i just dont think GTA IV will be super huge.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

well, for someone like me that has never played a GTA game, and no sony arnt thinkin like you, id say they are thinkin of not relying on one game to sell their console like MS does with Halo or GTA .. according to sony GTA will take part in selling their consoles but they are not relying on it .. since GTA4 will be my first GTA game, i cant say if it will be mind blowin like gta3 and all that .. but i wanna see what i missed out on last gen ..in GTA4
I myself aren't to keen on the whole wanna be video game thug theme they got going on, I've owned all the others, but they've certainly lost their charm for me, but the addition of multiplayer should add lots of replay value. I'm on the fence about this one, and wouldn't give it a second thought if more quality games were released this time of year as I've already made a few mistakes in purchases this year alone. If I'm patient with the release of mgs4 onward the rest of the year should bring titles that overshadow gta in terms of quality for my tastes at least. Decisions decisions.
All gta need to be a massive success and step up a level is a coherent story...interesting story. Something that has been missing in the other games. And more mission variety from. Kill this person. steal this. blow this up. follow this guy.
And a world that is a tad more realistic.
You're trying to compare GTA IV to Mario Sunshine? You lost all creditably with that statement.
Mario Sunshine did nothing innovative but add a water jet pack and slightly better graphics. GTA IV isn't just a graphics upgrade. GTA IV has tons of innovation including the first use of the Euphoria physics engine.
You obviously have an agenda against GTA IV and would rather see other games that you like take the spotlight.
Comparing GTA IV to Mario Sunshine just shows you're not qualified to write about GTA IV.

Every Sony fanboy out there is trying to downplay GTA IV because of the 360 exclusive content. Well I got news for you it won't work. NOTHING CAN STOP THE GTA IV TRAIN! NOTHING. Just sit back and watch it roll over every other game released this year. GTA IV will squash MGS4 like a grape under its huge boot. Not just in sales but in every area.... Replay value, innoviation, impact on the generation and console sales.
