Then there was the Game Cube. Poor Game Cube...

Sure the Game Cube finished third in the previous cycle of consoles, but Nintendo rebounded with a killer combo upper cut to take Sony out of First Place and push them into third while Microsoft stays number two again. Nintendo itself is synonymous with video games with Mario as a poster child for the industry itself.
There was always that rivalry between Sony and Nintendo...with Sony usually coming out on the winning side...but now the tables have turned financially with Sony posting a Billion Dollar Loss...a first in 14 years. But Sony still has it's supporters right?

Sack Boy...what do you think about that???

Mario has evolved from a 2-d side scrolling sprite into and 3-dimensional force in the gaming world. He has been through the Olympics, drove numerous race tracks, danced with the stars, and even went toe to toe with Sonic the Hedge Hodge and Solid Snake in his own game on his own system. The guy has been through his fair share of battles and adventures and he s still here with a smile on his face.
He even brought the blue guy over to his side.

Sega and Nintendo???
Side by Side no less...
Samus Aran has evolved as well. From a nameless bounty hunter to a heroine supreme. Her Zero suit debut has won over even more fans. Her battles have grown darker with each game. Especially with Metroid the Other M coming soon...

Link. What else is there to say here? As good as Mario has been adventure wise for Nintendo, Link has brought the "cool" fact with his hero look, good deeds, and his ability vanquish evil no matter how great the task may be.
Nintendo may have made mistakes in the past, but lucky for them their brand backs them up. They have so many fun characters on their roster that if a battle royal erupted the sheer number of Nintendo's First Party characters trumps what Sony and Microsoft have to offer.

VS
Master Chief, and Kratos may be cool... and sure they could wipe out the entire smash brothers roster with ease...but they have decades to go before they can even touch Nintendo's Big 3.
So after more than 2 decades the phrase Nintendo Power still carries weight! Right Mario?

Classic Iconic Hero...
Nintendo's strengths are also there weakness, by using classic characters as their brand the new and exciting titles (also more mature and popular) are always on the 360 and the PS3. However how many gamers out there would have put money on Nintendo's rise from the depths of the Gamecube?

Push Square: "Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is one hell of a package. Taken purely as an expanded remake, it's an absolute blast for fans both old and new — but questionable changes to the story and its cast will inevitably stain the experience for plenty of people.
It's such a shame that these unforced errors muddy the waters, because we think Kiwami 3 is probably RGG Studio's best remake to date — and one of the strongest titles in the series with regards to gameplay."
A graphics comparison highlights performance and visual differences for Monster Hunter Stories 3 on Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series S.

The original entry in Ubisoft's platformer series, Rayman, is set to receive an HD remaster, according to the series creator.
Big Rayman fan, but hopefully they add some cool new things for those of us that already beat this on the PSX/PC/Saturn.
this was a great read. go big N
... Seriously?
I am talking about first party characters...Nintendo is all about owning characters that succeed on there system. sure sony and microsoft have such stronger support from 3rd parties...but Nintendo is king with making 1st party characters for their systems.
Agreed. I guess I misunderstood what you were saying in the article... oops.
I agree with the 1st party characters of Nintendo part.Samus,Link, and can make a console stay great without any assistance
