Hello everyone, this is Part 2 of my blog series on the GaymerX2 panel titled "Internetting While Female." You can find all of the pertinent information about the subject material in part 1 here.
http://n4g.com/user/blogpos...
I'll be posting another "reward" video at the end that has nothing to do with the blog but is a kind of thanks for your patience. Without further delay, let's continue.
11:25 - 12:23
===================
This section shows Anita Sarkeesian stating that she and her boyfriend Jonathan McIntosh (who is her co-writer) write each episode of Tropes vs. Women in Videogames in such a way as to address any and all possible counter arguments that can be levied against her claims. If you watch her videos, you'll see why that's false, so let's focus on how she said "here's how it's different" instead. Anita, people say to you "but you can do this to men" because your entire web series, and every appearance you make paints the picture that any instances of equally poor representation of men in games is either non-existent, or not important.
Making the claim that one form of poor representation is different and worse than another based on gender and alleged cultural pervasiveness is actually dehumanizing the other side and completely dismissing legitimate issues. This is a common problem with Feminists and Feminism in general in that there is a consistent enactment of double standards across the board, and many people like the panelists themselves are guilty of the very "crimes" they lay upon the mediums they "criticize."
12:25 - 13:45
================
This section is where Anita discusses how people have made certain, very plausible, claims against her but don't ever listen to what she has to actually say and instead just attack her outright because she's apparently "trying to take games away" from them. To post the mountain of evidence against her would take another blog series itself, so instead I'll invite you all to go to this channel and watch his videos that make the cases against Anita, and make them well.

Many of the videos are lengthy, all have evidence to support their claims, and that user is not the only one with proof that Anita Sarkeesian is a huge con artist. Another recommended youtuber to look into about this is Thunderf00t, particularly this video...
https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Don't stop there though because there are so much more videos to see.
But moving on, she conveniently leaves out that all over Youtube and beyond are well made responses to her criticisms, done without any kind of antagonistic language, that she completely ignores. She also prevents any and all actual discussion on her videos despite claiming she wants discussion about these issues.
Finally, she purposely picks and chooses the worst troll comments she can find and proclaims them to be the norm of comments she receives and indicative of an overall trend of hate and harassment against women online. She isn't the only one guilty of this, it's a common theme used against gamers and is a HUGE misrepresentation of the gaming industry and the gaming community at large.
It isn't so much what she says, although that's part of it, it's that she values her opinion so highly that she prevents anyone from voicing a counter argument against it and then, when she's the focus of all the attention, she and her ilk decide to make snide comments and remarks about any dissenting opinion while using the aforementioned misrepresentations to paint the gaming industry and community in a negative light.
13:47 - 14:00
====================
This is where the continued arrogance and egotism of the panelists shows itself. Katherine Cross dismisses the legitimate arguments made against Anita's honesty as "chemtrail conspiracy theories" and Anita berates the people that make the arguments saying that she's surprised they aren't wearing tin foil hats. Ladies, do you think these actions lend credence to you and your message? You probably don't care because you know that if you censor enough people, limit your exposure to areas where dissent can't be voiced and where you're the center of attention, and yell loudly enough that your immaturity will be applauded rather than chastised for what it is.
14:01 - 15:15
=================
This is where Anita insults the entire gaming community, and completely dismisses once again any legitimate criticism or arguments brought up against her. You'll hear her claim that there are "hundreds of videos" discussing how she manufactured the hatred against her and used that hatred to gain sympathy dollars for her Tropes vs. Women in Videogames series and how that's ridiculous. She's right about the amount of videos, she ignores the evidence provided in said videos. There are videos that show A)Anita or one of her proponents/followers, spammed 4Chan begging for the people there to support her Kickstarter, and B)After making the claims that she didn't know what 4Chan was or why they hated her, a video was released where Anita was speaking at a college or some convention stating that she did in fact know who 4Chan was and this particular video was made PRIOR to her claiming she didn't. Hundreds of videos all saying the same thing, hundreds of videos with actual evidence to support what they're saying. Hundreds of videos that she's dismissing as "hatred of women" and "conspiracy theories" invented by a community filled with hateful, fearful people that are victimizing and victim blaming her.
Anyone that knows 4Chan knows that that's NOT the place to spam anything, let alone a social justice/feminist cause or project. You're asking to be attacked by doing that, it's one of the most hate filled troll sites in existence, if not the most. There is every reason to believe that Anita knew what 4Chan was, and knew what would happen by spamming it with Kickstarter begging. But once again, evidence doesn't matter to her.

===================
Carolyne feeds into the arrogance by being sarcastic about the fabricated opinion they all share that people think they are going to take games away due to their criticism, insulting the legitimate complaints and arguments levied against people like the panelists about their "critiques" against games. Carolyne effectively insults every developer out there that hasn't made a game with a black lesbian woman who weighs over 200lbs and is transgendered, and insults the industry as lacking creativity. Well I have 2 things to say about that. Firstly, a character's gender, race, body proportions, or sexual orientation are not necessarily relevant to creativity. Second, no one is afraid you'll take games away. The intelligent among us remember that numbers dictate the trends, not opinions, but opinions can still have their sway.
A common and historically effective tactic for anyone with an agenda to use against a larger, more influential body, is to engage in shaming that body publicly so as to steer consciousness and culture in the direction of the agenda of the smaller body. Right now games like Call of Duty sell immense numbers, so how do you fight against that to promote your feminist agenda in games? By shaming developers publicly, trying to paint them as woman hating, racist, homophobic individuals that are afraid of making anything different; by applauding non-games like Gone Home as being some kind of pinnacle aspiration every developer should have despite it being completely unnoteworthy in every way; by never using direct language such as "this developer hates women" but by using such subtle language to make the general public come to that conclusion themselves. Don't believe me? Ask the developer of Dragon's Crown what I'm talking about. The results of these actions have a direct impact on the Public Relations aspect of the gaming business, and what gamers DON'T want is a social agenda dictating how games are to be made and what is or is not ok in them. What gamers DON'T want is creativity being burdened and limited by an outside, unrelated agenda. That's what we're against Carolyne.

Oh boy, this is gonna be a long one. Ok, so in this section Katherine Cross essentially describes a community whereby fear of taking games away drives sexist, misogynistic, hateful behavior from said community and that said behavior is persistent and pervasive in gaming culture as a whole. The most interesting part is the inclusion of people like Jack Thomson, but I'll get to that in a minute.
Ok, as gamers I think I can speak for the majority of us when I say that as a community we've received nearly constant attacks from any number of social or political bodies for about 40 years right? Educational groups saying games stunt intellectual growth, parental/child development/psychiatric groups saying that games promote anti-social tendencies, government/legal bodies/news media claiming that games cause violence and violent behaviour in gamers. It's fair to say that someone is always attacking gaming for something, and today it's the feminists and social justice warriors joining in on the attack. How many of you are sick and tired of people saying you're just one game away from shooting up a school? It isn't fear so much as it is exhaustion and frustration. We're tired of being the community that society decides to attack and blame for everything.
The inclusion of Jack Thomson was interesting because SJWs and feminists like the ones on these panels are succeeding where he failed. It was his message that games impact the behavior of those playing it and his words that were debunked by any number of experts leading to his eventual disbarment, that were successfully parroted by Anita Sarkeesian in her latest video. SJWs and Feminists now have the attention of developers when they make the claim that development choices have a real world impact on how gamers perceive and treat other people. The very same B.S. that Jack Thomson said and was dismissed for has successfully penetrated the industry and all that it needed was to have a woman saying it.
Then there's the issue about Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2. Leave it to a feminist to focus on the hyperbolic or exaggeration rather than the legitimacy of the complaints. Allow me to explain something to you Katherine. Mass Effect 3's ending flew in the face of developer assurances to the contrary. Dragon Age 2 was clearly a casualization move done without any thought to the fanbase that made the first game successful. Consumers have the right to complain when they are lied to or when the developer stops caring about the people that brought them success only to focus on an entirely different group who, previously, showed little to no interest in the game. We are the ones buying the games after all.
None of this is proof that the gaming community is inherently sexist, racist, or homophobic. In fact I'd say it's more insulting to the community that you feel the need to focus on the differences of the community rather than the commonalities, like fighting to dispel myths about what gaming actually causes in the real world.

Carolyne goes full retard. I'm sorry but it's the truth. Carolyne, the gaming industry is not responsible for catering to your tastes or your opinion. The gaming industry did not create any problem of sexism or misogyny or homophobia or racism that you claim exists, you and your ilk did by inventing the problems to begin with. The gaming industry caters to no group at all, it caters to money. Money dictates what is made. It's not like there are no games featuring characters that you personally would agree with. Those games don't sell. Remember Me, I'm sure you know it well yes? I'm sure you know of the controversy surrounding that game? Guess how successful it was. It wasn't. Why? Because the market didn't want it. Now people like the panelists will no doubt cite a lack of marketing as a reason for such things, but I submit the following refutation of that claim.
Marketing only applies to casual gamers. People who do not game frequently enough to want to know about the latest games and game announcements are the most effective targets for advertisements like those you'd find on television and such. Why? Because the core gamer is always looking for the latest in gaming news. Take N4G for example. The site is an aggregate site for gaming news. Any and every game that exists potentially has a space for discussion on the site and links to provide further information. Guaranteed that the core gamers new about Remember Me. What happened? Nobody wanted the game. It isn't because the gaming industry is purposely trying to hold women, homosexuals, or colored characters back, the industry is following the numbers.
So are gamers the problem? No, we aren't. Tomb Raider, Beyond Good and Evil, Mirror's Edge, Bayonetta, Heavenly Sword, these are just SOME of the MANY games featuring female protagonists that have been well received by gamers; either financially, or through discussion. The answer is simple. Gamers buy good games, they don't buy opinions. Gaming is inclusive of everyone because all that it requires is for you to buy a console, buy a game, and play it. If the groups of people you're talking about had a problem with the current gaming industry to the degree you claim exists, why are they still buying the games then? It can't be because they're good games right?
Well, this ends part 2. Thank you for your patience and here's your next reward video. Fear Factory from DKC Metal Cover.
https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
I agree that the environment for female protagonists in gaming is much better than a lot of people realize. Remember Me and similar titles failed and are looked down upon because they were lackluster, not because gamers dislike playing female characters.
There's so much good here. Tomb Raider and Bayonetta are considered some of the best games of their respective genres over the past console generation. Mirror's Edge and Beyond Good and Evil are some of the biggest cult classics in gaming, period. There are primarily female games like Skullgirls. Nearly every WRPG and some JRPGs have a female player character option. Etc etc. These many good examples shouldn't be ignored.
