Modern Games, Classic Style

New FPS games are new and innovative says the masses. Take a close look at Modern Warfare 2 think about how innovative it was. It is a good game no doubt but it has a classic style, thats right quake 2 and all those good ol shooters back in the day. Yes MW2 has unlocks killstreaks and all those achievements but the play style, fast quick and random non objective like carnage. Now it does have other modes with objectives but even quake 2 capture the flag had more tactics than MW2 CTF. So while everyone is in such shock and awe over MW2 I would like to say that just step back and look at what your really playing. Even games like Halo and all those other popular FPS.

Nothing has really changed that much in the core gameplay of FPS, now this isn't a bad thing as we all love it but game devs need to come up with some new core gameplay for the FPS genre. A new upcoming game Bad company 2 has done this to an extent with a ground breaking feature that was so simple its ridiculous that no one had done this before them, a 3rd team. Not one other game that has been in the FPS industry(that i know of) has had 3 teams fighting each other. Bad Company 2 features this is Squad deathmatch with involves 3 teams of 4 players duking it out in a small map for 50 kills. Now this isn't as before with MW2 and Quake as they are running around but in a squad with a medic and support classes for teamwork. Not only this but it also features a good objective based main game mode call rush where the attacking team has to plant charges on an "M-COM" station. This also brings me to a realistic objectives, now it isn't totally realistic to destroy random com centers and somehow you take over the base automatically but its a whole lot more realistic than hoisting a flag in the middle of nowhere.

There are other tactical games out there but no where near as much fun as BC2(i'm playing the beta now). Most of the other tactical games are Rainbow 6 type games where its slow but still entertaining. BC2 is in the middle for pacing, its fast slow and tactical all at the same time. Hopefully there will be more games like BC2 in the future.

Pawnbroker Simulator review - ChristCenteredGamer

CCG writes - "Despite my complaints about the music, graphics, and inspection mechanics, I had a lot of fun with Pawnbroker Simulator. It scratches the itch of running a store and making money buying and selling all sorts of interesting things. While I personally prefer the mechanics available in something like Supermarket Simulator more, I still think Pawnbroker Simulator has a lot of good going for it. The game is still being actively worked on, with console ports also on the way. If store management simulator games are something you enjoy, there's enough different here from the competition to make it worth your while."

Really loved the preview, and enjoyed seeing what you had to say about it as well!

On another note, the article mentions posting the video once you are allowed to—were you given a different embargo date for it? We were simply told the article and video footage were restricted until 8:00 AM Central Time.
