We all have our opinions and when it comes to the world of gaming opinions differ to say the least, which leads to what I think put a slight stain on a very good 2009 for video game players around the globe.
1. No Official Announcement of Star Wars Battlefront III:
You know you want it. Although this generation has been dominated by First Person Shooters there has been a few shining examples that first person is not always the way to go. Gears of War and Uncharted for example showed that exciting graphical showcases with excellent multiplayer modes can be achieved in third person and have long term appeal. Which leads us to a game many expected to happen when they purchased their 360,PS3 or Wii (Not forgetting PC gamers)...Star Wars Battlefront 3.
The first two installments sold very well for LucasArts and still have a loyal active fanbase to this very day, especially on Xbox Live which allows backwards compatibility. Leaked footage and concept art emerged earlier this year to much excitement yet LucasArts have remained quiet on the situation, especially since the lead developer of this ghost went bankrupt. E3 passed with no word and with a frustrating definitive path for the title one can hope that 2010 will bring full clarification on the matter.
2. Mass Effect DLC:
From a personal viewpoint, I am a big fan of the original Mass Effect. Despite its problems the game had a sleek visual style, interesting story and a wonderful soundtrack. Bioware promised quality downloadable content and full support for the title up until the release of its sequel, what we got was far from appealing. An average mission that lasted around 40-50 minutes to complete in Bring Down the Sky to the awful Pinnacle Station which screamed "half hearted" released earlier this year. From the looks of it Mass Effect 2 will more than make up for any bitter taste the DLC left.
3. Heavy Rain:
Oh Sony, sometimes I could strangle you. You tease us with some quality crafted trailers yet leave us waiting so long sometimes to actually sit down and play. Heavy Rain is a game I've kept a keen eye on for a while and I fully expected a 2009 release, instead I have to wait until early 2010 to experience what could be one of the games of the year. Not long to wait now although I can be selfish and want to play a game which could change developers minds as a whole if successful and define a new era in gaming style and motive.
4.Alan Wake:
Like Heavy Rain, I've waited for this game far too long with a almost Star Wars Battlefront III type silence in the process until a few months ago. Alan Wake, again like Heavy Rain could be a system showcase that could possibly pull the casual gamer away from a Modern Warfare or a yearly sports title and bring more people into enjoying not only great graphics but a very good story. May 2010 is a frustrating wait to see if it can deliver.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
It's still in development, though :)

I hope someone competent is working on it.
ANYONE other than Rebellion, please.
RIP
Free Radical
and
Pandemic
The reason is that these last months have been packed with games, no 8 hours fun trips neither, 16+ hr behemoths that take all those precious 24 hours in a day and devour them. In short I have no time and this extra time will result in some more spit and polish on undoubtadly great games.
You made this because of my forum post eh? :)
Free Radical's version of Battlefront III unfortunately died. The only things left over from the game (according to an ex-employee in an interview) were game assets, such as character/ship models, possibly maps, etc, and possibly the storyline and custcenes as well. But all of the code, such as gameplay, online, ground to space combat, is all gone and will have to be done from scratch. I am pretty sure LucasArts has taken the project and has been working in it internally though. They are doing the same with the force unleashed 2, so I don't see why they wouldn't be with Battlefront 3.
