Former glory

I'll make this short, mostly because I don't speak english actually. Need For Speed and Dragon Age, two completely different games. These two were the first to come to mind, but I'm sure there are a lot of games, juste like these two. They are great titles. At least they were... once.

I feel that a lot of games have lost their touch somewhat. Sometimes they try to restore it, but it rarely works. Need For Speed comes to mind of course, with some of the latest games being mediocre at best. It's not always a bad game at all. Some are better than others. But it simply isn't what it was before. Even though I enjoyed playing NFS Rivals for exemple, I didn't have the fun I experienced on older NFS games like Hot Pursuit 2. Rivals was fun for a while, but eventually I stopped playing. They did try changing the game, but it never really worked. And I don't think they could do another NFS with the fun and all these details that made Need For Speed a great game.

Oh Dragon Age... When I first saw that game, I actually wasn't even interested. Then it came out, I bought it after reading some reviews, and loved it. Not everything about it was great but you could see the potential it could have with the second episode. And Dragon Age 2 came. I bought it immediatly. Just like Mass Effect 2, the second game is more action-oriented than the first one, and the game is actually fun to play for some time. Then you start seeing the same level over and over, and the world of Ferelden that you discovered in Dragon Age Origins... Well, you won't see it at all. It was a big disapointment. Actually I'm trying to forget that experience... The next Dragon Age has been announced for some time now, and I really hope that it will help us forget about Dragon Age 2. Bioware has kind of disappointed a lot of people with Mass Effect 3 too. Mostly with the ending and the choices that weren't even significant after all. They did great games in the past, and I think they still got the talent. The new Dragon Age is looking good, and should help return the game to it's former glory. Still, I'll wait reviews this time before buying Dragon Age Inquisition.

We always want old games to come back to life but each time, the taste is different. Probably because we tend to compare games before even trying to enjoy it.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit41d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9241d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
