How Do you Plan to spend your Big Stimulus money?

Today,  el presidente Bush will sign a A huge stimulus plan giving everyone who has a job and submitted taxes a huge gift in the range of 300 dollars to 1200 dollars depending on your status [married, single, high income, low income]. So here's the question you gotta ask yourself. What to spend it on? Get a new or bigger HDTV? Buy all those games for your 360 that you couldnt afford last year? Get a PS3 and get ready for the line up it has coming? or are you just going to save it?

So lets here it, What are you going to spend it on?

All I know is that if Americans don't spend their money on American products/services, this stimulus package isn't going to stimulate sh*t in our country.

i agree if no one spends their money on xbox and McDonalds we are screwed.

Genuine6646d ago

Actually, no we aren't screwed. But our kids and grandkids could very well be.

TheExecutive6646d ago

lol i wonder how many parts of that 360 you own are made in America... just because its an American company doesnt mean it hasnt been globalized. Do you work for MS? Seriously.

It's not about people buying American with the stimulus money it's that the majority of them are either going to pay off some debt or put it in savings which do nothing at all to stimulate the economy. I'm glad the Senate got rid of extending unemployment on it. That was funny so they want to help unemployment by letting them stay unemployed for even longer...?

Unless your buying $600 dollars worth of groceries, a service plan, or home improvement, your money is probably going towards the global economy. You sound like a baby boomer.

ravinash6644d ago

Put the money in the bank and save it.
Use it to pay off dept or part of your mortgage.
Try to reduce the interest accumulating you any debts you have, and if you don't have dept, then bank it or invest it.

The problem these days is with a consumer society everyone keep pressuring you to buy stuff you don't really need.
You want to help your country to move forward, then don't be a burden on it. look after your own finances.

Genuine i think if you spend money on an xbox 360.. the only country making money off it will be taiwan;)

Can't say I agree here, guys...Buying a PS3 or Wii in, say, Best Buy has a tangible effect on OUR economy, not Japan's.

Me? I'm picking up a PSP and possibly a XBox 360..contributing to both American AND Gaming economies. Can't wait for my package!

Genuine6646d ago

Then they take your money and buy more Ps3's and Wii's. Who's economy does that stimulate?

harv0526645d ago

That's if you live in the USA or Japan. What happens if you live elsewhere? If Canada, for example and by following your way of thinking, buys 360s or PS3s, we're not helping our economy, but yours and Japan's. Still our dollar is strong...

ravinash6644d ago (Edited 6644d ago )

fact is if you buy a PS3, then you can buy American made games.
And its the games that produce the money and profit for all the companies including the console creaters.

Besides, when does throwing more money into Bill Gates Cash mountain help anyone in the US. it all just goes to the share holders who just sit on it and say see how rich I am.

info6646d ago

so you`re just a nationalist pig? ... that's right stimulate the economy with supporting quality food, life style and all that..can`t you see that its because you have been stimulating all that crap for the last 30 years that now its all going down in flames ?
And the worse is that its contagious and countries like china will probably suffer the same disease in 60 years time

feejo6646d ago

Only for those who have a job, how hugly.

Rooted_Dust6646d ago

If I get the full $600 I'll buy another 8800GT for my Desktop and a portable hard-drive for my laptop.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing2d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster922d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit2d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing2d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster922d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
