Slim Xbox360 In The Works

This may be a poor written blog post, however I am not a video game journalist, just a video gamer.

I work in a video game store and I spoke with a Microsoft representative today and he essentially confirmed that an Xbox360 redesign (slim) will be revealed at E3.
He also told me that Natal will be priced at $70 USD and there will be a Redesign+Natal bundle for the holidays.

Some more things he said were that Microsoft was planning on spending as much money as they did on promoting and advertising Windows 7, on Halo Reach.

Microsoft and another TV company (he thinks it was Samsung) are working together for some kind of 3D thing.

Windows Mobile phones will have cross compatibility with Xbox360's and Windows PCs. Some phone manufacturers are talking about making their phones capable of accessing media on xbox360s to playing XBL Arcade games to even full Xbox360 games, similar to the remote play feature on the PS3 and PSP.

Well that's about it. I didn't catch the representative's name since I was actually filling in for someone else's shift at a different store, but even if I did, the disclosure is not worth his job. So I will leave you to decide what you believe what Microsoft will do this year.

All of it makes sense and I wouldn't be surprised to see all of it come to fruition at E3 especially since most of this has already been talked about in the past.

I'm not surprised. It's about time a redesigned 360 came out.

my question would be how much do they think the slim will cost? I'm still working on my launch system so an upgrade would be nice.....it might look funny next to my phat ps3 but o well.

I know first hand that those store reps don't know anything more than your average Google searcher. I speak with SONY, Nintendo and Microsoft store reps and they never know much more than I know, but I'm a freelance journalist. But, they are retail reps and don't have access to inside information. This is fact not my opinion. ;)

actually, as much as i'm on n4g, i really haven't seen any semi-official news on what this man told me.
i mean, if you have some links please do send them my way.

this console generation is getting very interesting indeed.

Well this is something that has kind of leaked out earlier this year. The biggest speculation is a slim Xbox 360 bundled with Project Natal for around $250. A re-brand with a redesign would work wonders for the 360, just like the slim worked for the PS3. I see Microsoft even taking a bigger loss getting Natal out there. Probably see the Xbox 360 slim sell by itself for $199 or less.
I'd definitely buy another 360 if they went slim with it.

There is a pleasing rhythm to running a kitchen, especially with friends, when everything is going as planned. It can be really satisfying to split up jobs, talk to people when you're under a lot of stress, and run a busy service.
