The EVIL that is...GAMESTOP

Hello N4G community. I’m writing this blog due to my recent experiences at GameStop. These are just personal things that bother me. My first blog, Enjoy!

Employees
There are several GameStop’s in my area and I’ve been to them all. The types of employees there differ from store to store.

1.

The Idiots- These are the people that you hear talk and think to yourself, “What the fcuk are they doing working here”. They are easy to spot because they are usually older man or young teen girls that know nothing about recent releases or videogames in general and try to hold the most ignorant conversations. For example, I preordered Skyrim at GameStop. The old dude at the register literally made a huge deal of my preordering it by asking everyone in the store what this game is about. I was held in there for 10minutes…

2.

The Self Proclaimed Elitist- Well, these are just as annoying as the Idiots. These people are the ones that look down on every single soul that walks into GameStop. The only explanation is that sometime in their gaming life a traumatic event happened to them that led to them feeling more “powerful” than everyone else. You can spot these guys pretty easily too. Just ask a question about any game and they will come back with an attitude like no other. It’s like you just ruined their whole day.

Pricing/Trade- ins

Now pricing is something GameStop got horribly wrong. It’s already bad enough that brand new console games cost 60 bucks, but with bad trade in value, it only makes it worse. This is how they do it. Say you buy a $60 brand new game at GameStop. For some reason if you don’t like the game and go back to GameStop to ask for a refund, it’s not happening. They’ll tell you that you have an option to sell the game…for 15 bucks. WTF! That’s why I have a huge game collection. If I try to sell I’ll only get a few dollars.

So I hope I informed you of just some of the annoying things at GameStop. I kept this brief and short just to see how this would go. Leave comments of how GameStop has played you and tell me how you like this little article.

This should be on every GameStop store front.

I hate Gamestop. I REALLY hate Gamestop. Dude this article speaks the truth. Gamestop is evil, truly evil. I brought in 2 ps3 games, and 1 Wii game. One of the ps3 games, I had recently bought for 40 bucks. The other two games were a bit older but I did pay full retail for those as well. Gamestop gave me 16 dollars. 16 friggen dollars! I just payed more than double that for one of the games! Gamestop isn't power to the players, its more like "GameStop: Ripping off the players"

I just traded in Duke Nuken Forever and got $37 dollars for it. Don't know what is going on everywhere else but I have had nothing but good times with the two gamestops that I go to.

The more popular a game is, the more money you get. You must have bought the game very close to its release date to get 37 bucks for it.
