Not sure who did the voice acting but Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (massively overlooked game) had terrible voice acting for the talking animals in the game.

A recent one was Alexios from AC Odyssey. Back in the day most of the voices from RE. Loved the game and in a way the bad acting gave it some charm but it was pretty laughable!

I remember playing Mega Man 8 when I was younger, however I never realized how bad the voice acting was at such a young age.

I'd say Dr. Light played by Jack Evans takes the cake for the worst voice actor.

I'd say Robert Belgrade(Alucard) from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. While being an amazing game in itself the voice acting in the game is just so corny and weird that i'd literally laugh sometimes. That'd would be one for me.

This might be a controversial opinion, but I can't stand Tidus' voice from Final Fantasy X. It's a big reason I have never been able to replay the game all the way through. I can even look past Yuna's breathy stilted delivery, but Tidus' overly high-pitched whine of a voice grates on me like nails on a chalkboard. He's supposed to be 17, not 13. Why did they have to make him sound like a whiny little kid :/

There's plenty of bad voice acting from the ps1/ps2 era, but I'm going with Oblivion and Skyrim, pretty much everyone in the game. It all sounded droning, like everyone was just reading direct from a script, and not given any kind of delivery context. Fallout 4 seemed to address this problem considerably, but they still have a long way to go.

Hmm, nothing really comes to mind for *worst* voice acting. I'm gonna have to go with Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It's okay, but I really can't stand Rex's voice. I doubt it's the worst out there, but it definitely doesn't sit well with me.

Resident eveil 1 for me would have to have some of the worst in gaming history. Such a good game though, but that audio/voice acting is abismal.

Well, this is both an easy as well as difficult question.

Easy, because there's so much terrible voice-acting in video games, often because, in the West, it seems to be undervalued by so many developers/publishers, meaning they'll often just go for some cheap C-quality 'voice-actors'... especially when it comes to Japanese voices that they feel the need to dub in English, but don't want to actually invest in doing a good job of it.

Difficult, because I don't really have any stand-out examples that were worse than others. As a rule, I ignore dubs whenever the original voices aren't included (I skip dub-only release), so because I ignore dubs in general, I won't include them here, cause I can't really judge those fairly.

I'll stick with big releases of Western games, where the original voice actor/actress bothered me.

Most triple-A games from big studios usually have very good voice-actors for their main characters though.

I think I'll go with a recent character that bothered me: Mary Jane Watson, in Spider-Man PS4). I'm used to the character from the original comic books, which was generally upbeat (a cover, sure), sexy, and confident.

In recent years, Mary Jane has often been modelled after Kirsten Dunst's terrible character in the original Spider-Man trilogy, meaning she's whiny, skinny, and just not a very interesting/fun girl to hang out with.

I feel the MJ in the videogame had those same negative aspects of that character: She was a bit 'mousy', plain, nagging, etc etc. And I just couldn't stand listening to her. Her voice was just boring and ... ugh...

Silver Sable was absolutely terrible in that game as well, btw. Another character I actually like in the comics.

So, MJ Watson in Spider-Man. Hated her.

I have heard so much bad VA in older games from the early to mid-90s. Hard to choose just one. The one I hated the most was Tim Mosley as Col Mullen in Grandia. He sounded half asleep, robotic and bored all at once.

Deep Fear on Saturn. It's an import, but even so, the english voices are epically bad.

Don't know any of the actors, but hopefully they're out of the voiceover business.

Unexpectedly, Nolan North, with a really overdone, stereotypical, bad cockney accent for the Penguin in the Arkham games.

I hate badly done accents, just hire the right guy for the right job.

don't know his name but whoever the hell voiced Gary in Day one: Gary's incident. He sounded like he recorded that entire script while on the toilet.

I was completely shocked how bad Dinklage was for Destiny. So bad they replaced him for the DLC!

Destiny 1 peter dinklage it was so bad the reaction started from the first gameplay reveal and was patched out after release. I didnt hate the job he did but even bungie agreed with everyone.

Mine is a bit selfish but it was the Russian Voice Talent who did my lines in Postal 3. I had recorded lines for the game at the radio station and sent them to the publisher. They in turn sent them to the programming team overseas. We later learned that the game they created was not what they were supposed to do and they replaced much of the voice talent with local people. So I was very upset when my part in the game came up and it clearly was not me or my lines.

Matthew Perry, Fallout: New Vegas

Perry's voice acting performance in Fallout: New Vegas is mostly looked on as a sour note in what I consider to be a great Fallout game.

The english actress who provided the voice of Lymle in Star Ocean: The Last Hope for Xbox 360.

For 360 there was no Japanese voice option, and her voice literally made me stop playing the game.

Everyone in Gears of War - there's only so much "let's do this ***" and "dat's what I'm talkin' 'bout" that one can tolerate.

Honestly nobody for me. During the times there were bad voice acting you kinda couldn’t even tell because of the time peiord. Like the PS2 era. But I will say the worst -line- I’ve heard would probably be that “Fill your dark soul with light!” From Drew Coombs lol. I remember even reaching that part and being like “yikes” lol. It’s bad, but In a funny way.

LOL can't say anyone hurt me but I wasn't too fond of the voice acting choices by Riku and Tidus in FFX. On the other hand, I loved Waka! :)

Surprisingly I liked Dinklage as the Ghost in Destiny, and Nolan North didn't ruin it entirely but he hurt me by replacing Dinklage.

I would have to say the cast of Ni no Kuni 2. I thought I could get through it with the accents but I just couldn’t. It was cute with the first game and Mr. Drippy but the second I just wanted them to stop talking all together.

The house of the dead 2, pretty much the whole cast.

She’s far from terrible but the actress who played Triss in W3 bugged me. Obviously I was less than excited to hear her voice in the Cyberpunk gameplay video as well, as it seems there’s bound to be a lot more of her in my future.

I don’t have a “worst” choice per se...I’m no chauvinist, but I cannot stand hearing female Stormtroopers shouting out commands. And at that, an overwhelming number doing so in BF2. Not canon. Eye roll every time.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
