Prey for the Gods looks pretty darn cool. Why has it taken this long to get a Shadow of the Colossus clone?

those are the two upcoming indie games I am most excited for right now.

Rime, Shiness, Yooka-laylee, Cuphead it is so hard to pick just one.
If it really pulls off what it intended to do in the trailer when it was first released then Rime all the way.
A tie for Shiness and Yooka-Laylee, followed by Cuphead.

Yooka-Laylee, miss that Banjo Kazooie style and this seems to capture it impressively well, especially since it's by some of the same developers.

Seven: The Days Long Gone, made by some of the people who brought you The Witcher Series. Tons of dialogue options and customization. Love me some stealth games.

Indie games barely capture my interest, but Outlast was the one Indie Title that did, really enjoyed it and will most likely buy the upcoming Outlast 2.

I have my eyes on Torment Tides of Numenera, Death's Gambit and Cuphead.

Cuphead. I really hope it brings back that old school feel. I'm keen to try it out in co-op too. It looks like an old school platformer and I love it.

I'd say Cuphead though that may end up releasing this year, so Yooka-Laylee it is. I have also been waiting for Awesomenauts Assemble to release on the Xbox One, hopefully that finally gets released this year or the next.

Yooka-Laylee is my pick for sure. It is the only game I've backed on Kickstarter to date, and it is everything I hoped it would be and more. The developers are truly following through, and the Toybox showed a lot of promise. The recent gameplay videos make me even more confident that a stellar, nostalgic experience is on the horizon.

Cuphead easily. Looks as unique as they come and challenging as well.

This answer here would be Cuphead for me 100% however it at this time anyway still has a 2016 release date associated with it online so it would have to be Yooka-Laylee. Cuphead looks all kinds of amazing though.

What I have seen, I really like the look of Outlast 2. Rime looked good, but hard to say whats going to happen with it, after Sony dropped it.
If WILD is considered an indie then this is the most interesting upcoming indie game for me.

2. Oddworld: Soulstrom - Abe's Exoddus remake

3. Raiders of the Broken Planet - MMO from Mercurysteam

4. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Castlevania spiritual successor by led by Koji Igarashi

5. Death's Gambit - another very promising metroidvania

6. Outcast: Second Contact (remake)

7. Toxikk - old school arena fps getting a comeback, and it's not F2P.

8. Yooka Laylee - return to platformers, by ex-Rare staff

9. Vampyr - from the guys who did Remember Me

10. Scorn - first person horror using UE4, great art design and atmosphere

Also, Tyranny (Obsidian Entertainment), Divinity: Original Sin II (Larian Studios), Lawbreakers (Bosskey Productions), Syberia 3 (B.Sokal/Microids), Below (Capybara Games), Cuphead (Studio MDHR) - All these games, if they ever get pushed over to 2017.

If we're talking indies, Bloodstained is my choice above all others, even above most AAA titles.

KingsGarden: the lost legend being developed by one person and is on kickstarted right now!

State of Decay is still one of my all-time favourite indie games, but I'm not sure the sequel qualifies since Microsoft now owns Undead Labs... then there's The Long Dark, which - despite having spent years in early-access - has been indefinitely delayed.

Either way, Facepunch Studios are working on a prehistoric survival sim called 'Before', which looks like a cross between The Flame in the Flood and Age of Empires, insofar as the player is tasked with controlling a tribe of cavepeople through procedurally generated environments - complete with a seasonal weather system and some good old-fashioned permadeath... the hunter/gatherer mechanics feed into the crafting and base-building, but the social/tribal aspects add a layer of depth that's reminiscent of State of Decay's community system.

Comparisons aside, it does look like a genuinely unique and suprisingly charming take on the survival genre - basically the opposite of 'Rust' (Facepunch's other game)... here's hoping it qualifies as a 2017 title.

World to the West by Rain Games. It looks incredible! I was one of the first people to ever play it at GDC, when it was first publicly playable, and it was a blast.

I love Ruiners but it's out this 2016 (hopefully). So i'll go with Below.

Seriously impressed with what they have done. It truly captures the Banjo-Kazooie experience which is something I thought would never happen. This is definitely the closest to Banjo-Threeie that we will get unless they some how get the IP from MS.

Cuphead, Yooka Laylee, and System Shock remake are my top three oh and outlast 2 can't forget, Soma was by far my favorite indie of last year, any ps4 owners really should get this gem!

River City Ransom: Underground. The game just looks so jolly. What I love about the NES classic was how cute the characters were, while at the same time how precise the fighting mechanics were.

Now we're getting all that in addition to HD graphics and multiplayer. Can't wait to throw my money at this game.

I'm gonna have to say Yooka Laylee, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Those games look phenomenal and I seriously cannot wait for them.
