Well im new to N4G but certainly not new to gaming , news tech etc. I know this will not get the green light but thats ok all im hoping for is a bell to go off with those who read this. I am not making this blog for personal blogs or reviews that i have made, made one review that was "passed" and a blog that i left in limbo and obviously will be treated with the same care that i put into it.
I have watched some pretty decent peices done by the community get leap frogged by some pieces that were not so "worthy' to put it nicely but more concerning is the that the buddy system can be a bit obvious and does hurt the community as a whole which hurts N4G. I asked a friend who knows a bit more about this site and i was told that incentives for the best stories and best contributor are in place and what that means in terms of "incentive" im not sure but what i am sure about is that incentives can really make things tricky in terms of "user" reviews and content.
The community suffers as well because people will abuse , cut corners and buddy up to get their own pieces on the front page. This happens when power ends up being abused and some do not need an incentive for this, this is something some just crave. When power is distributed in a rather unstructured way it can be devastating in terms of quality and one could gain power by spamming. So its unmonitored for the most part and for the other parts monitored by "contributers". I am not sure if there is a "cap" for contributers but the community will break if there isnt one and hopefully there is a ratio of "noob" to "contributors" which allows the "process" of equalty and fair play in the form of writting aka sharing. It will become hard to "share" for those who may feel belittled as well, calling a review awful? Who the hell are you? I have worked in the gaming industry on many levels unfortunately none that surpass 5 figures, lol but none the less nothing good comes out of being cruel to "fellow users" but they would benefit by a few pointers or examples of what they can do better and i applaud those who do try and help their fellow gamer. To the ones that don't and abuse power well its obvious that they need a slice of humble pie and a dose of reality. You are just a user, dont get it twisted.
N4G is this what you guys want in a community? Some that take "contributor" status a bit far? Almost pushing some who want to be a part of N4G right out of this site thus clearing a less obstructive path for their own material?
Well at this pace N4G will have visitors and contributors and no middle ground. Users will may never get the chance to be a "part of" because their peers may have a bad impact on how they feel about N4G within the first 5 mins of being here and this is not what a gaming community is supposed to be about nor is it what the creators of N4G had in mind when this was on the drawing board (I'm guessing).
I have spoke with a few good people and have seen some great outreach from contributors to the new users but the buddy system has to go and so do the ones that can not handle or grasp contributor status. Help your fellow gamer don't hurt them and although teaching may not be your job well keep in mind that being a jerk isn't either. A website thrives on "noobs" and its become too "contributor" heavy. A website just like a bar will fail if the only people at the stools are regulars that run new customers away from "their" hang out. Maybe N4G is doing better than ever atm but facts do support that fresh levels out the mold and with this buddy system and unrestricted contributor growth with little oversight from "senior" well it will do more bad than good in the long run, Im not sure about incentives or the details but i do know that this open contributor sandbox, not enough senior oversight, buddy system combined with incentive can spell doom.
I myself have seen enough. I want to say thanks to those who are a part of the majority, the kind and helpful people that are the foundation of the community and i can only hope that you guys and gals can help the filtering process by eliminating those who buddy up and have a bad attitude which does rub off, especially to new users.
Again i haven't had a "bad" exp, but its not about me. If i see something that's hurtful to other gamers it also hurts me. I grew up in a rather old "gaming gen" but learned very quickly that we must support each other and now more than ever due to the twists and turns that the gaming industry has taken and if you need to ask well i would suggest doing a bit of research about the gaming industry and its history. Many people lost their jobs in the past 3 years and i am not excluded from the many. The industry is changing for the worse and this is your forum to speak your mind, share and learn, not take advantage of your status or hurt those who have good intentions. I myself have no complaints in regards to the way my items were handled.
"Well it doesn't effect me so let it be."
That's a crappy way to be and just because someone didn't sling fecal matter in my direction doesn't take away from the fact that the area stinks of crap when its done to someone else. Anyone who has a passion for gaming is an equal part of the gaming community and owns his/her seat within it but when one crosses the line and hurts those that they should support, well you don't belong in the gaming community. So support each other and try and be aware that users are trying to be a part of and come with the tools they own and some may not be well equipped in grammar but their heart is in the right place, they want to share how they feel about their gaming exp so if they are shunned they will think twice about making more and this is a problem. I cant stress enough that the majority here is good but the problem is there and can be so ugly that one may never get to exp the beauty due to their initial exp.
"awful review" written by an awful person to someone trying to be a part of N4G.
I know if someone said that to me i would pack my stuff and go elsewhere. Its one thing to be constructive but thats not constructive, just deny the freaking thing and choose words that aren't as "awful".
Many mistakes here, have a field day with it and please keep what I said in mind when you do interact with your fellow gamer.
Yes this is very drawn out, repeated identical points and jumped around quite a bit because its a tl:dr so even if you skim this you will more than likely grasp the subject.
I have learned through others that gaps do wonders for those who find it dif to read more than a paragragh, the attention span has shrunk over the years i guess and the spacing creates an illusion of "easier on the eyes" and when i grew up reading a few pages was not out of the realm but in this gen i guess it can be considered a task to read more than 500 words so people who do write tend to create ways to "adapt" to this growing tl:dr trend.
Feel free to rip this apart.
My only intention here is to bring awareness as well as let some who may feel disrespected or let down by the choice of words one may have used etc. YOU have just as much right here as the next guy or gal, keep writting if you enjoy it . Whether it gets published or not is besides the point. There may be a standard in respect to whats exceptable but there is NO standard when it comes to your exp and expressing just that. Some will guide you to learn and there are many here that will extend a hand so please dismiss "awful review" and look to the ones who try to help, they are there.
Thanks to those I spoke with and good luck!

Joe Hendry will make his WWE 2K debut as he will be part of the WWE 2K26 roster, but you will need to unlock him, here is how to make him appear.

Calls for an ARC Raiders PVE mode continue to grow, but adding it would go against everything Embark's shooter crafts on the Rust Belt.

Come on coolbeans, do rules not apply to you as well?
Proof read your report and make sure its error free , especially if its under 100 words and is a report based on errors.
