Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 shaping up to be hyper-realistic

Set in an open world, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is apparently being everything that fixes the issues of it's predecessor: Open world, day night cycle, realistic weather systems, realistic physics, no hand-holding, realistic scouting, skill upgrades like in real life, extremely difficult and dangerous world design. It's no longer going from A to B but far more complicated.

Now you can mask gun sounds by thunder. There is no spotter to assist you and weather affects the world: Heavy rain will obscure your vision, wet slopes are slppery and could cause you to slip and fall to your death. You'll have to track enemy movement. Not by a mini map but with footprints which will also hint you about where you can walk without tripping on a land-mine (which you can disable).

You'll get one chance to kill your target and if you fail, no there is NO "MISSION OVER" screen. The target will escape or retreat and may try to get back-up go after the source of your gun-fire (guards are no longer omniscient of your location). You even have mini-drones to scout locations ahead of you and guards react to a drone like what real guards would do. Every single action of yours will be taken into account.

Sniping itself requires taking calculations of wind, gravity, breathing, and every shot needs to be made with precision. Going in with guns blazing will obviously get you killed. And neither can you take on an entire army by yourdelf- you're just one man against the entire military and not a war action hero.

So far this game is ditching all the lows of the predecessor (Sniper Ghost Warrior 2) and CI games is giving their best efforts to make this the greatest sniper game ever built.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is currently slated for a Second Quarter, 2016 release for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 on this day promises to be very interesting game. CI Games try to do everythink to maximize CryEngine 3 on this game. "Sniping itself requires taking calculations of wind, gravity, breathing, and every shot needs to be made with precision." This sounds awesome :)

I didn't like the first two games that much, so hopefully this one is much better. I really enjoyed Sniper Elite 3 with all of the assists off, it just felt like a much better game compared to SGW. Though with games like Lords of the Fallen, it seems like City Interactive is really trying to advance themselves from their history of poor quality budget games.

My sentiments exactly. The first two SGW game were horrid IMO especially when it forced you into CoD style firefights giving you no choice in the matter, and the cheap "follow" npc to guide you where you need to go instead of just making smarter level design. Meanwhile every SE game since ps1 has been far better especially with SE3 on ps4.

I would love to be surprised and have this game be great but it's really 50/50 after seeing what they've accomplished with lords of the fallen but also taking the previous 2 games into account. Heres hoping

I wouldn't say two previous games was horid, I found them to be very decend. The third game on the other hand seems to be a whole new level, and that's where I put my expectections ;)

I played Lords of The Fallen not much time ago, and I must say it was awesome :) I think CI's ambition is to make better, high budget games, which will be more recognizable around the world. New sniper looks very nice, IMHO.

I like they use Cry Engine 3 in new Sniper, it looks really stunning, I see it's full potencial here. So far game presents itself as a pretty awesome tactical shooter, let's hope it stays that way :)

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit7d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing7d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster926d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
