The current Gen systems “Should I game or should I abstain?”

There is a lot to be said, and admired about the new consoles. With that in mind one can argue the exact opposite as well. You could even go so far as to debate if they are even consoles any more. With gaming becoming more mainstream, or easy in other words can you really afford to buy a 300$ plus machine and have it not make good on your investment? Good question indeed stick with me as I briefly break down why it’s wise to wait.

Well first an for most if you fancy yourself a "GAMER" then you would have to ask "What games are available for the system of my choosing?" The answer is sad as of right now, but that is to be expected with the launch of a new console these days. So lets turn instead to the quality of the games available. Games like Call of Duty or Killzone boast no more than improved graphics. Other games such as Plants vs. Zombies, and Knack are great games, but they also don't boast improvement by way of game play or complexity. So in this regard it might be best to wait until developers really tap into the true power of the PS4 or XBOX ONE.

Now lets examine the real meat and potatoes of both systems. Their networking and move towards being all inclusive entertainment devices is rather impressive. Clearly the XBOX ONE stands tall with its voice activated, multitasking, and all around entertainment qualities. All things said though its a mess at this point. Ambitious yes, reached its full potential? NO! The PS4 is less impressive, but still on par with its share of features, limited voice commands, and easy to navigate menus. Still things ultimately fall short. So to both systems credit the future looks promising, but lets be real you can save yourself time and money by waiting to purchase them.

Lastly consider this: Inevitably systems drop in price after a year or two. In addition to this multi-colored accessories and the systems themselves often launch later. Add to this that there will be bundled game versions of the consoles, system redesigns (often making the machine itself smaller and more reliable), and the always-popular Christmas sales. Let us not also forget any system recall problems a la "RED RING OF DEATH" for the Xbox 360.

In the end the last few generations have proved historically beneficial to hold of at launch. For the reasons I have previously mentioned, and a couple more I haven't talked about. I’m sure there are going to be the "CANT WAIT TO HAVE IT!" gamers, but if you are into using your hard earned money wisely then the only way to go is to be patient. Hey thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy your consoles if you already have them. KEEP GAMING and remember if you can't be good....BE GOOD AT IT! PEACE!

Review - Reigns: The Witcher (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Reigns: The Witcher is superbly well-written, and masterfully integrated into the world and lore of Andrzej Sapkowski and CD Projekt Red’s works. It doesn’t feel like a cheap cashgrab. On the contrary, you can clearly see that Devolver, CDPR and Nerial worked together in order to come up with an engaging random story simulator that feels right at home in this world full of liars, deceivers, and terrible outcomes for everyone. Granted, it’s not the most action-packed game in existence, but think of it as you role-playing as a bard, coming up with nonsensical ballads about imaginary heroes on-the-fly. It might actually be the closest to a true role-playing game The Witcher has ever felt in videogame form, even if the gameplay is still as complex as scrolling through Tinder when you have nothing else better to do."
