Why has the gaming industry been split into 3 sides, well 4 if you count pc but lets just delve into console. micrososft, sony, and nintendo are all corporation making money by selling consoles and games. They are a company that sells product. Why is it that everyone is taking their own side, why cant we just all get along. To make matters worse even the company themselves are also encouraging the flame wars happening in the net.
i cant really blame the gaming community, as far as i remember the console war has always been present, ominous always waiting and just gripping our very minds into submission.
"Mario is way better", "no sonic is the greatest.." remember those days..? Is it innate to the gamer to side into one console and defend it even to the death, is it in our inner instinct that drives us to insanely fight anyone who opposes or bashes our console of choice?
As a bear witness to the disgust and utter nonsense that the war has brought us, war truly brings the our ugly sides i cant help but think "why cant we just be happy with the console of our choice and not blatantly destroy or downplay other peoples choice of console. Do we think that our console is better, that we are always right..hmmmmm.. Usually the gaming industry thrives in competition and rivalry to bring out the best product, but also because of this rivalry, many countless hours are wasted due to flaming wars, many countless friends are broken up due to disagreement between console of choice. Do we really need to pick one and only one great console for each generation..each console has its own merits, advantage and disadvantage for owning them.
Why dont we just respect each other, fellow gamers and just not waste our time fighting the console war and just enjoy our own choice of product. Lets just go and play our own games.
To each his own right..?

Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered International is a fiercely nonlinear JRPG that embraces the series’ trademark freedom, letting players shape the world while offering little in the way of guidance, with combat and mechanics that remain uniquely satisfying, and the remaster’s quality-of-lif

Follow as Leon S. Kennedy's story continues and a new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft's, journey through hell.
Well, here in Germany at least there is this short tale:
A fox stood in front of a tree, looking at an apple. He thought how wonderful it would taste and his mouth became all watery. He tried all he could, but was unable to reach the apple. An owl came and sat down next to the apple.
"Do you want this apple?" The fox looked at the Owl and replied:
"No, I am getting sick of apples and they don't taste good anyway." After that, the fox left - hungry.
Enough with the fairy tales, I think you know what I meant. If somebody, for whatever reason, can't have what he wants, he either admits it or he turns the other way around and fakes disinterest. I own a PS3 and a Wii. I would like to have an XBox360 as well, especially after Itagaki said there won't be any more DOA(X)'s in the future, which pretty much means that there won't be one for the PS3. I, and some others on this site and everywhere, have the balls to admit that they are jealous because they don't get game XYZ in their console. For, me it's the DOA(X) franchise, for others, it's Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Gears of War or the next Banjo. To each his own.
The problem is, most people won't admit this and act like... they act now. Another factor is that people, when they get together, tend to become increasingly stupid (there are exceptions, though). One person is smart, two can team up, but three are a pair and one - too much already. Now, If you have groups like the installbase of a console, go figure.
Then there are those who are loyal to a brand. I myself follow the games, but some others only buy something just because a certain brands name is written on it (I know someone like that actually, it's horrible). You can pretty much say anything to those guys, they wouldn't listen for the sake of their lives. The same is true for the fanboys/fangirls that defend everything good or bad about their console of choice for some magical reason.
I'll never get why there is so much hate... I think it's kind of a lifestyle thing though. Look at Rap/Rock/Punk/R&B and you can get the same kind of hate as opposed to movies or books where there seems to be much less hate. The 360 and PS3 and Wii it seems is more of a lifestyle to many. I don't have a huge investment emotionally in it like many. I own every system and handheld. I like them all. I like some more then others but thats just because of controller or online friends or what not... I like Rock/Punk/Electronic/Whatnot many people like just one.... They will defend it to the death as well saying "Rap is lame" which will only cause arguments and thats that... Some people like the Bashing that goes on with the 360. Others like the near silent online of the PS3. Some people like Smash Bros online... I ain't here to judge I like em all. However very few share that sentiment...
I think that the reason for such hate are gaming cites (like gametrailers) and their stupid comparations! I really dont know how someone can choose console because of a few better textures or warmer colours! I have bought PS3, because I have PS1 and PS2 and I love games like GT, MGS, Ratchet, ..., but I would really like to have X360 too! It has fantastic games, and no true gamer can deny that!
