So I know this is an old topic now but Resident Evil 5's trailer was shown at E3 and I personally think it is looking spectacular here is a link to it for those who haven't seen it:

it looks similar to Resident Evil 4 which I think is a great thing in some aspects with the over the shoulder view that puts you right in the action. The graphics are outstanding but the one problem many people have is zombies or lack there of. We all now Resident Evil has always been a zombie franchise and well the Ganados were great they're not quite zombies and fans of the original games see this as a huge flaw but the game isn't scheduled for a release until 2008 or even 2009 so we can't judge it
this early there may be zombies yet. One ridiculous thing I have heard
is that capcom is racist by having black people as enemies Rockstar did
it with GTA so why can't capcom besides does that mean everyone will

I'm a big old school Resident Evil fan (RE1-3 and RE:Codename Veronica) and while I praise RE4 as one of the greatest games of our time, it's really not a RE IMO. Capcom changes almost everything about it and the game was much more action oriented than my fave RE2. I also didn't like the setting.
I agree with your point on lack of classic zombies but I really like the new location and characters and these people are more zombie looking than RE4's. The one thing that got my attention is the unique animation for each zombie, specially in crowded scenes and it reminds me of my fave zombie killing game Dead Rising. Add my fave RE character, Chris Redfield and we have a winner in my eyes.
can't wait to play it. Very kool that they stayed with the Re4 scheme.. but its gonna be so kool.(so much more kool actions like punching ppl in the face- GetTheFOff lol)
just think we have to wait 2 more years to play this game
