Yep, I caved. It's no secret I adore the Playstation 3 as it's no secret I think the 360, on various levels, is a tad bit overrated. As a gamer (an old one at that), I find it harder and harder to NOT play games I fully know, good and damn well, I want to play. Peep game: I traded my Daxter PSP bundle and 4 games in for an Arcade. My PSP had more dust on it than my Wii. Don't get me wrong, it's a great product. I'm just not a mobile gamer. I like my couch. I like it a lot. I still hate the nickel and diming that comes along with the 360, but with the help of friends (friends determined to get me back on XBL and gaming with them) I got a free 20GB HDD, headset and charge n play cable. Next up, the games. So I come to you, the N4G communtity of level headed gamers, fierce debaters, realistic thinkers and trolling asshats to suggest some games to compliment my new broken console. So far I know what I'm going to rent (Left4Dead, Mass Effect and Gears of War 2) but what should I BUY?! I'm open to XBLA games too (minus Braid). Thanks!

This factory game is calm and methodical, rewarding patience, creativity, and attention to detail. This game is for you if you like the satisfaction of a well-oiled machine and the challenge of designing it yourself.

As far as XBLA games get Carcassone. Best game I played on there. however it can only be fully enjoyed if you have a friend to play with. Friend, GF, Wife or whatever. Great game. I think it even has a demo.
AS far as regular games I hated Mass Effect myself but many liked it... but I would say rent crackdown before buying unless you get a cheap used deal. It's fun enough and apart from that it's hard to say.
See there aren't too many 360 exclusives out there for me. I play them on PC...
So im just ripping off a list off the top of my head...some are multiplats so you may have played them already. Anyways here we go.
Dead Rising
Bioshock
Halo 3
COD 4
Gears (both of them)
Forza
Braid
Dead Space
Viva Pinata...yes I said it, much cooler then you would think
I don't think there's anything wrong to own both systems (PS3 and 360), especially since it helps you understand the strengths of each system and its respective library. I just have too large of backlog with my PS3, PS2, PSP, and DS games to even consider another system.
I had a 360 at launch and up to my 6th RROD on 3 different consoles ("fixed" by MS). I've really only missed out on the last 2yrs of 360 gaming. I had Gears, I beat Gears, I know what Gears 2 is about...I'll rent it. Beat Dead Rising. Beat Crackdown. Beat Dead Space (PS3). Own COD4 (PS3). All your suggestions are appreciated!
