Sony
The 2nd of the big 3 is up, and ready to flex it’s muscle, will it pick up where everyone except EA dropped the ball so far? Here we go.
WTF a 10 minute delay for the show.
A super long Montage. It shows a bunch of games, and everything looks great, but it was far to long.
PSN Apology. Jack Trenton jokingly tells reporters you’re welcome for the controversy. He then goes on to apologizes to developers, to retail partners, and especially the consumers. It was said and done early on, and most importantly it felt sincere.
Ps3 generates more than 30% of overall Netflix uses, more than any other media.
Cinema Now coming to PSN to allow TV to the US PS3’s.
Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception. The game is absolutely gorgeous. The rain effect on the boats deck are surreal, and the rocking of the boat via the strong waves realistically causes Drake to stumble. It’s a stealth mission, as Drake sneaks into a Ballroom. Sound effects are more brutal, which is good they worked on them. Drake isn’t playing around in this game. Ok the ship has a breach in the hull, and water starts flowing in, and it’s the best looking water effect I’ve ever scene, although it does creep a little too slow. The water is INCREDIBLE . Drake also looks younger than in the previous trailers. This is a long demo. That’s it.
During October you can go to Subway to get access to the entire multiplayer game before it comes out in November.
Another Uncharted 3 trailer. Chloe and Elena are both back YES. The game just looks so impressive. Uncharted comes out November 1, 2011. Don’t miss out on this amazing game. GOTY contender already.
Resistance 3. The demo takes place in St. Louis, MO (almost back in my hometown). For the first time ever Resistance looks better than the Gears of War franchise. Resistance has some crazy weapons. There’s some kind of electricity weapon that slows down enemies, then one that send them spiraling in a vortex where you can shoot them to death. There’s some huge spider like thing running through the remains of the city, with LongLegs (the jumping Chimera) hoping through the city shooting at your allies. The game looks gorgeous as well.
Resistance 3 Bundle. R3 the game, PS Move controller, PS Eye, PS Navigation controller, and PS Sharpshooter for $150. That’s not a bad deal to be honest.
God of War Collection (The two PSP games), and Team Ico Collection will be out in September both in 3D for the PS3.
Sony announced an official PlayStation 3DTV. 24” and it’s going to be very affordable. 3DTV, 3D Glasses, HDMI 6” cable, and Resistance 3 will sell in a bundle for $499. Not bad, but it could have been a 32”. The glasses can be bought for $69.99.
Move sold 8.8 million units, and now it’s moves turn, and it’s expected that over 200 move games will be out by the end of the year.
NBA 2K12 On the move. Move is used to play NBA 2K12. It looks easy, and it works, but no one wants this, good for casual not for hardcore. I must say it looks good for a sports game. Kobe Bryant comes on stage to play, Sony is not f’ing around, there’re here to play hardball.
I’m getting sick of them saying please put on your 3D glasses, but at least they’re showing the games in 2D for use at home.
Medieval Moves. Yes Medieval is back, as a Move game, and it looks really good. This seems to be what Sorcery has evolved into. It’s a hack and slash games, using move only. It has a childish art style, but it look great like everything else on the PS3 so far. Shield and Sword, Bow and Arrow, and Ninja stars. It’s not for everyone, but fans of the series will pick it up.
Drop the “Move” and “On the move” out of the game names, it let’s you know it’s a move game, but just say it.
Infamous 2. Move is going to be used in InFamous 2, to allow you to make user generated content easier. And the same support will be added to Little Big Planet 2.
Starhawk. A new trailer is shown, and confirms Starhawk is Warhawk meets Transformers. It looks great, and I’m sure it’s going to be fun.
Sly Cooper 4 Thieves in Time. The trailer looks great, like a crooked Ratchet and Clank games. Coming in 2012.
Dust 514 and Eve Online coming to PS3 with PS3 and PC content sharing. It has Move support, Home support, and NGP support (I want to know about the NGP support). Dust 514 the sense of scale is huge, and the game looks much better than your standard FPS. Closed BEat the end of 2011, with a Spring 2012 release.
Bioshock Infinite. This game is colorful, and they’ve gone with a more artistic art style than previous games. Can’t wait for this one. Bioshock Infinite will support Move controls. Also the original Bioshock will be on the same Blu Ray disc as Bioshock Infinite. 2 games for the price of 1, ala Dead Space 2.
Bioshock NGP confirmed.
Saint’s Row The 3rd, will have an exclusive game mode on PS3 only. Saint’s Row 3 will launch on November 15, 2011.
Star Trek. The next Star Trek game will be Move compatible, and be releasing 2012 along with the new movie.
Oh my goodness all this news, and we haven’t see anything about the NGP yet.
SSX. EA ‘s newly announced game will have an Mt. Fuji mountain drop exclusive to PS3.
Need For Speed: The Run. The PS3 version will feature 7 PS3 exclusive supercars.
Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3 will also feature PS3 exclusive content, giving Battlefield 1943 away free on the same Blu Ray disc.
EA shows Sony love.
PlayStation Suite. A quick reminder of PlayStation Suite is announced. Coming to smartphones, tablets, and other non PS devices. This is a great idea, it ups games sales exponentially. More information in the very near future according to Kaz Harai, aka TGS when the NGP has it’s last showing.
PSP2/NGP now called PS Vita. UGH. Horrible name. I’m sticking with PSP2/NGP/or PSV. Wi-Fi and 3G models. The 3G model will have 3G access through AT&T exclusively. BOOOOOOOOOOO. Free Access to 24,000 AT&T hotspots. HMMMM, Alright, I’ll take it. NGP has a party room system and cross game chat (PS3 where you at?). Near is announced again which basically shows your gamer card to every other nearby PSV (has a nice ring to it), and will do more. PSV will be out Holiday 2011, and retail for $249 for Wi-Fi, and 3G will retail for $299.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss. WTF are they putting into these game. This game looks as good as most PS3 or 360 exclusives. I wise they showed more story/gameplay, but it’s great.
Ruin. Action RPG for PSV. So far it’s the least impressive game shown so far graphically. The gameplay looks a bit stiff, but the selling point is that like Demon’s Souls players can joing your game, and they are enemies that you must kill. Ruin is one of the games that will have a PSV to PS3 experience. The transition was seamless, and took only a few seconds to move from PSV to PS3. This is a great example of what more games need to do to help push PS3 and PSV integration. After seeing the montage mentioned later I must say it looks better.
ModNation Racers Vita. “It’s not a port”, alright then here we go. The touch controls in ModNation racers is a perfect example of touch surpassing normal controls. Creating tracks is as simple as drawing your track on the touch screen, then adding whatever you want using touch. Use the front touch screen to lift and lower the terrain, you the back touch screen to add mountains and trees, you the front screen to raise and lower the sun. It’s just a perfect example. Also the game looks as good as the PS3 version, another impressive feat.
Why do these presenters sound out of breath, they only walked up on stage.
PSV to PS3 games. Wipeout 2038 8 player online with up to 8 PSV or PS3 players. Cloud saves will also allow you to move from PSV to PS3. Content Sharing is the final mix of PSV to PS3 connectivity.
Little Big Planet Vita. This demonstrates the Content Sharing features. It has 4 player online co-op, create and edit your own pictures and items, and share content from the PSV with the PS3. Once again the game looks as goos as it’s PS3 brother although it’s a little more sketchy. ModNation Racers will also be able to do this.
Street Fighter X Tekken. A short, but great trailer is show, and for once the Tekken cast is winning. The game is also coming to PSV, and Cole from InFamous will be in the PlayStation versions of the game. Enter Cole gameplay on the PSV. The director wasn’t to good at his own game, but it looks great on the PSV, again just as good as the PS3 and 360 versions.
PSV Montage. At least they’re keeping them to an all time low. Actually this one was pretty good, it showed a bunch of games all running on the PSV, and all of them looked like console games.
Jack came out and got an lol for taking about Kaz and the infamous Riiiiiiiiidge Racerrrrrrrrr. Well that’s it folks.
Sony’s E3 Conference Score: A-
This was perfect. The pacing was perfect, the amount of montages were an all time low, the game demos were amazing, the PS Move support was the best it’s been (although it’s only been one full year), the PSV had an amazing showing and the price is perfect allowing everyone to jump on board Day 1 (3DS is in trouble) $249 Wi-Fi, $299 3G. There was just so much good. Sony had no choice, but to pull out all the stops and they did. The only thing that could have made this even better would have been a PS4 demo and PS4 games, but since that’s not happening anytime soon, I’ll make due. Some games were surprisingly missing from the conference as well, where was Twisted Metal, Last Guardian, Journey? These games could have been shown and they could have spent less time on the Resistance 3 move bundle, and the Resistance 3DTV bundle, not that those were bad, but they just could of gave a quick announcement about those, and used the rest of the time to show more games. They could have also shown the new IP's Sony Santa Monica and Guerrilla Games are working on. They definitely saved the best for last with the NGP price reveal which hit everyone in the right why, and even the DJ at the end was good. Sony had more they could of shown, but what they did shoe was great, one thing to remember about Sony is that they announce things for every major game conference so they have to save some things for Leipzig and TGS, so knowing that Sony did a great job.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
I wish they would have shown off 2 more ps3 games we didnt know about that wouldve made the conference better. And i think sony held back either for nintendo(lol) or psvita. Biggest thing i remember from the psconference was 249$ and i think that was their goal. Im gonna preorder a vita as soon as they become availble for preorder it looks amazing.
I thought it was much better than Microsoft's and Nintendo's, but it was still dull.
PS3 was all shooters, the Move's only game that is Move-only looked boring, and they really didn't show off too much of Vita's games. I was hoping for some Resistance/Killzone Vita gameplay.....perhaps they'll still show it some time this week, though.
They did a good job securing non-map-pack, non-timed content, though. Saint's Row, Need for Speed, SSX, Infinite packaged with Bioshock (not to mention Infinite has Move compatibility!), Battlefield 3 with 1943, Dust 514 is now a ps3 exclusvie.
