MS is poised to launch their next gen system first once again.
1. They came out first this gen.
2. They have been able to drop the price of their system several times while maintaining a profit.
3. They want to keep that advantage.
But MS continues to say that the 360 isn't half way through it's life cycle yet, and if that's true then we probably won't see a new Xbox until 2014 (unless they keep both systems on the market like the PS2 and PS3).
Now here's the problem. The longer MS takes to launch their next console the closer they get to Nintendo's and Sony's consoles. Nintendo is going to milk the Wii for all it's worth and can launch whenever they want. Sony, however, wants what was once their number one spot back and if MS waits to long then they just might get it.
If MS launches November of 2014 then there's a good chance Sony can launch June 2015 (after E3), March 2015 (fiscal period), or even worse for MS and a bold move from Sony November 2014. Then what would happen? Even worse what if all 3 consoles launched November 2014? Would one company be forced out of the console war? Here's what I think.
I think MS will launch their next Xbox and if they are the only console out it'll be $399, and as soon as the other consoles launch it'll drop to $299 (the sweet spot for consoles this gen). I think their console will be a nice upgrade to the 360 sporting an up to date processor, up to date graphics card, Huge HDD, 2GB-4GB of RAM, and have a built in NATAL camera. I think MS will make their next console as much of a PC as they possibly can to make development as simple as possible for developers so their games can once again have the advantage in multiplatform titles. MS is going to do this also, because their first party studios are going to target the Wii's casual market and try to win them over.
Nintendo is going for the casual once again, but this time full force. Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Play are going to be Nintendo's major exclusives, and they'll pump out a Zelda, Mario, or Metroid whenever the hardcore gamers throw a hissy fit. Nintendo has made a lot of money this gen and as a business it makes the most sense to get the causal instead of the hardcore, because that audience is larger. Nintendo's next console will finally be on par with this gen's consoles. It'll have HD graphics, probably feature 1 GB of RAM, a basic processor, basic graphics card, hopefully a HDD, and some new way for gamers to play games since the motion controls are on every console now. Their system will launch at $250 once again, and be a complete rip off.
Sony is the hardest to predict, because we have no clue what they want to do. Are they going to go full on casual, casual/hardcore (Wii), hardcore/casual (Xbox 720), or full on hardcore. Whatever the case they need to make their system easier to develop for, or make it significantly more powerful than the competition so that developers don't struggle with it like the PS3 vs 360, or so developers will be given the opportunity to make multiplatform games better on their system if the chose to do so (and for those who don't take advantage we'll just have to see what happens to you). If I were Sony the later would be what I would do, just to test the developers to see if they would make a difference in the multiplatform game (my PS4 version better be on par with the PC version). Anywho the PS4 should have multiple Cell Processors (milk it for what it's worth), an up to date graphics card,4GB of RAM, Huge HDD, PS Home will be their interface, and built in PS Eye.
So tell me what do you think?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
i think Microsoft are just flesh attracted money and media. they only really make a profit out of Microsoft office but like to venture into other markets where they can see money. this is proven by internet explorer(made no money and got in trouble with european goverments), msn(made no money or tactical advantage), xbox 360(they say they make money but the rrod has destroyed any profit they have made), bing(no money so far just spent loads to keep up with google) and vista(a downgrade of xp and a rip off of snowlepord, actually lost consumers to apple). therefore i predict they will go total casual where they see nintendo making the money. their new xbox will have some flashy rip off xbox live online thingy. it will also be filled with motion sensor gimmicks. Sony once again will be the powerhouse but may struggle with online gaming, this could be their downfall. in my opinion nintendo is the hardest to predict because now they have the money to make a powerhouse like the nintendo 64 and the Gamecube but on the other hand may stick with the casual market where they made their money. therefore i think they will most probably go for the casual market but also nintendo hasn't even started the online race yet.
overall i predict
1) sony's ps4 (will be more reasonably priced, extremely powerful and better online capabilities)
2) nintendo's wii2 (a fast selling cheapo console with nothing special except the very low price)
3) Microsoft xbox 720 (only a slight hardware upgrade from the 360 but full of online entertainment coupled with a gimicky motion controlled system, only a slight upgrade from natal)
*i think Microsoft are just flesh attracted **to** money and media
I think it will be Nintendo who brings there next gen console out. first
