The first time I played Borderlands, I didn't like it. Now I love it. My file is(literally) ultimate. I have unlimited money, unlimited shield, and I have no limit to what I can afford so if there is an ammo station nereby, unlimited ammo. It's actually more fun than you think it would be. I never have to complain about dying, I never have to worry about not getting a good gun, and anything I do WILL get completed and I'll get back without a scratch. How did I acheive all this?
2 Rose Patriots. I sold one, and I'm using the other. Someone came into my game room and dropped 3. I forget about the other one and what I did with it. I have access to all of the DLC packs, and I have it all on the PS3. So why would I give all of that up just so I can play Borderlands 2?
Me getting those Rose Patriots was quite possibly a once-in-a-lifetime thing. If I'm going to get Borderlands 2 I at least think that our items from the original game should be able to transfer to our new file on the sequel. Not only that, but I am comfortable with the scene in Borderlands. I became attached to Fyrestone and it's environment. I was comfortable with the charactor selection. But what will Borderlands 2 offer me?
In most of the games I play, I become comfortable with a certain town. In Pokemon Ruby version, I became comfortable with Mauville City. In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, I liked the town of Anvil. In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, I liked Whiterun. We all do that sometimes right? But will there be a Mauville City? Will there be an Anvil town? Will there be a Whiterun? Will there be a Fyrestone? Will there be a town I become attached to?
Another important factor is the charactors. Will there be a charactor I become comfortable with? In Borderlands I liked Mordecai. In The Elder Scrolls I liked the Argonian species. But will there be a Mordecai or an Argonian. The first charactor I looked at was the fat guy. But still, will I be able to bond with Borderlands 2 like I did with the first?
Now I know I've used alot of metaphors and most of this Blog can't be taken literally. But sometimes the sequel sucks. Sometimes it's awesome. Either way, the only way I can find out is by playing Borderlands 2. This blog may be confusing, it may jump from subject to subject, but all-in-all, I am hesitant to buy and play Borderlands 2. edit... it was my office internet being the issue. i did it on my phone through cellular and it worked. Got me a white one.
it lets me order from Canada.. only charges me $20 for shipping too.
That being said. Spending $533 (CDN) on the white unit for it to primarily just sit and collect dust would be a little foolish.

I just had to... I already have an AES with a multi-cart. But this thing was just too good to pass up. Especially since the wireless controller works on regular AES and the game cart does as well. Plus it comes with a matching white memory card.
@darthv72 - I'm not a collector of games for these retro consoles (have the Analogue Super NT (SNES), Mega SG (Genesis) and 3D (N64). But I just use everdrives with each system as I only have a couple of SNES carts and only 2 N64 carts. A lot of these games are stupidly expensive so I'd rather just invest in a single everdrive and then I can just run every game. However the everdrive that works with the AES is $600! Crazy stuff.
^^...that is why i got one of those 160-1 carts off aliexpress. it works great. and yeah i use everdrives and ODE where available. i do like to buy PS4/5 games and Switch stuff though. I dont buy much in the way of physical XB anymore, I just use GPU to play what I like.

Replaced is a gripping and gorgeous 2.5D action platformer, even though this AI-based adventure could do with a system update to completely iron out the bugs.

Why do we play any game after our first? You do it because it's a new experience. Yeah, it'll feel a lot like the same, but it's a new experience with new characters, new locations, new story, new yadda yadda yadda.

Impossible for me to tell you if you will like the game or not. The main city hub is called Sanctuary. It's not alive like Whiterun, but it does offer you a chance to interact with a variety of NPCs, shop, gamble at the slot machine, and is a part of the overall story.

First of all, Salvador is broad and muscular, not fat.
Second, again, who knows. I don't want to give any spoilers here, but there's a good chance you will run into a few of the characters from the first game. A very good chance.
As far as liking the new class options? There isn't a Mordicai (aka Mordie), meaning no class that focuses on having a pet that attacks and improving your sniping/pistol/revolver skills. There is going to be the mechromancer class released next month as DLC (free if you pre-ordered) that might involve summoning a pet. There is Zer0 the assassin who can become the master of long-range combat (read: sniping).

Borderlands 2 is a lot better than the first one, you can't hate it just because you can't transfer your items. It would be too easy, where's the fun in that?
I just started Borderlands 2 yesterday after finally beating Dark Souls after 110 hours (and it was glorious!), but I've gotta say, I'm feeling the same way as I did when I played the first game. It's something I just cannot quite put my finger on, but B2 still feels like just as much of a shallow game as its predecessor did for me - (and feel free to disagree, as I'm stating my impressions thus far). Sure, it has immeasurable amounts of character, content, and customization, but the mechanics just feel... well, tired? I don't even know if that's the right word to describe it either.
Granted, I'm only playing single player (as almost none of my friends own capable PCs to run *a* game, let alone *this* game), and that may be perhaps where the problem lies.. which leaves me wishing Gearbox would have implemented a multiplayer system that allowed cross platform play, such as PC to console and vice versa. Nonetheless, I'll continue to play the game to see if my feelings change over time, but so far, I'm not all that impressed. Anyone else getting the same vibe? Just curious.
I would appreciate hearing people's (civil) feedback on this.
