XMNR: A senior VP at Capcom revealed on Monday that the company is in the process of re-evalutating how it handles downloadable content for future games.

All 21 Classic Games are playable for a limited time 🎮

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Capcom has clarified its current stance on generative AI in its videogames. The major Japanese publisher and developer behind popular series like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter has revealed that while it doesn't use gen-AI assets in their games, it is exploring ways to use generative AI to streamline the game development process.
Using Artificial Intelligence (more like Realistic Stupidity) art assets in your games is a great way to get people to boycott your product. We don't need that ugly, unsophisticated, generic, fake art in our games, good on CAPCOM for not using that garbage.
Naw you can't fool us, You work with Nvidia, that's a fact! And here you wanted to advertise but now look stupid!
"One such title is Dragon’s Dogma, where the decision to include some additional (but not all planned additional) game content for the game on disc was made at the beginning of the game’s development cycle as at the time this was determined to be the most efficient way of ensuring certain content was made available."
There you have it...
They say that since they only started re-evaluating last month, certain games will ship with on disc dlc because the have already planned it this way and are unable to remedy it at this late stage. One such game being Dragon's Dogma.
I have a solution for your dilemma Capcom, one that I'm sure never crossed your minds. . .keep the dlc on the disc and make it free. You're welcome.
Now your new and improved attitude towards on disc dlc need not clash with your inability to simply remove the content from the disc.
AKA How do we get more DLC onto the disc?
if this is true, this is the beggining of the return of the old Capcom, wich would be great.
Well, why not just unlock that content, make it free. Then simply do DLC the correct way? Careful analysis should show they have methods which can be put in place.
