"Hard Lock is positioned as a sequel to the original film, but then tries to include as many references to the original as possible, including your base on the USS McKinley. This is weird as the film is nearly 30 years old. Maverick and Iceman would be old and fat, and not flying planes any more – but they both keep cropping up, complete with appalling voice acting."
