The Elder Scrolls Online was announced by ZeniMax Online studios yesterday, ushering in a new behemoth to the Massive Multiplayer World (The Old Republic just shit it self.) This foray into the online realm is the first for the Elder Scrolls series which has panned several games over many, many years, though the open world style that has become somewhat ubiquitous for Bethesda does, at least on the surface lend itself well to the MMO format.

Must be hard to see what you've created being destroyed by a creatively bankrupt mega corp. I'll keep saying it, MS is the worst thing to ever happen to the industry, consolidation on this scale kills innovation and creativity as you don't want your acquisitions to be competing with each other.

If Matt Firor can't have his opinion on the situation, then who can? Fact is, their decisions had a major impact on him that made him want to leave. Him speaking out on the effects Microsoft's decision had on him might look bad, but that doesn't mean it isn't true or noteworthy.

I just don't care about this game. I wanted a real elder scrolls game but online. This game is just another MMO.
