Wish they'd make a Netflix-type subscription for their video content. Make current TV episodes accessible after a week of airing, let people buy it sooner if they want.

gaffyh5138d ago

Tbh, subscription is probably the way to go for every type of media, because just the promise of unlimited content is enough to get people to subscribe.

Dante1125138d ago (Edited 5138d ago )

@ Godmars

Yeah, that's actually a cool idea. Instead of just being able to rent or buy movies, make them all available to watch for a fee...$15 for 3 months?

Thatguy-3105138d ago

15$ for 3 months lol that will never happen.

gaffyh5138d ago

Yeah that would be too much of a good deal.

Godmars2905137d ago

Was thinking more like $5 a month, or $8-9 a month - minus the obligatory penny - if they threw in "old" movies with week old TV shows.

And I just found out video content that I actually bought - has to be bought again.

So, never buy video content off PSN, just rent it.

Snookies125138d ago

Yeah because the PSN's video store is the worst thing ever. I've bought a movie, and an episode of a show only to have it say I could no longer watch them despite paying for them. I'll seriously never buy anything off that section of the PSN again.

So maybe if they had a service like you're describing it would be better. In any case, guess we'll see what they come up with soon enough.

phantomexe5138d ago

Really snookies....... I buy from it all the time and nothing like you said has ever happened. i did have to redownload a tv episode one time but i never got charged again for it. i spent alot of money on psns video store.

Snookies125138d ago

What? I downloaded those things and it said I would not be able to download them again. Going back to try and redownload there was no option for it, I would have had to pay for it again.

This happened while I even had one of them STILL on my PS3, it simply wouldn't let me play it.

Sorry, but I've had two horrible experiences with it, and while I love PSN as a whole, I stay far away from the video section.

gaffyh5138d ago

Maybe you went for the rent rather than the own option? I dunno, I've never used it, but it seems like that would be the problem.

Snookies125138d ago

@gaffyh - Trust me, I owned them. Paid 15 dollars for the movie which I can no longer watch. :[

They specifically mention on the PSN video store that "once downloaded, if it gets deleted you cannot download it again." That is a HUGE issue with me, especially when I have limited hard drive space. It's just not worth it in my opinion. Would rather have a physical copy of something anyway so it's not a big loss.

kreate5138d ago

Actually snookie is right. Unless psn video store has been changed in recent years.

I bought a few episodes just to find out once its gone, its gone.

But im not sure why he cant watch it if its in the ps3 already unless he deactivated his ps3.

Psn is great and easy to share content across other users but i also stay far away from that video section.

Maybe thats why they got so many different video services on psn. They all seem to outbeat the regular psn video store.

himdeel5137d ago

Yeah I bought a few episodes of a tv show deleted them for space and they are no where in my download list. Very disappointing.

Godmars2905137d ago (Edited 5137d ago )

I directly bought content, backed it up on another HD, restored it to the PS3after a few years later, and was prompted to buy it again.

Don't buy videos off PSN. Rent only. Which is really effed up because there are some videos that can only be bought.

Awesome. Take my money, PS+ rocks. Ill always be glad to support the PlayStation brand. It constantly brings good things for us gamers.

DigitalRaptor5138d ago

As long as they make it a choice. I hear some people bag on PlayStation Plus, but it is and always has been a choice. That's something I can respect.

Neko_Mega5138d ago

What they should do is make PS Plus members get Netflix and Hulu free (Meaning you pay for PS Plus and you get to use them without the monthly payment).

TekoIie5138d ago

That would cost Sony A LOT. I also doupt Netflix would be willing to do so...

catfrog5138d ago

hulu+ wouldnt be willing to do it either, a ps+ sub is about $6/month, netflix is $8/month, hulu+ is $10/month. ps+ is the cheapest, theyre not going to get the content of a more expensive service put onto their service for a cheaper price. they would never make any money lol

what sony could do is offer a sony music/movie services thing to it. sony, with its most recent buyout of another studio is the largest music recorder in the world, and has one of the largest video entertainment companies in the world as well.

if sony can successfully integrate all their entertainment (music, movie, gaming) into a single subscription they would have the largest entertainment subscription in the world by far

BitbyDeath5138d ago

Would be good to get a TV service that displays any shows at any time and as soon as they are released. (Australia is always behind).

I would sign up for that.

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

1) Hope they put it on disc this time.
2) Hope this is a positive for Neptune coming over as well.

Demons Souls5825d ago

If so, that's being developed & published by Idea Factory. Compile Heart has nothing to do with it (Thank God for that).

Godmars2905825d ago (Edited 5825d ago )

Thought Compile Heart was one of the companies lending characters.

Was also speaking in general as in regards to a US of Neptune. If these guys are offing a second game, NIS or Atlus, both of whom offer quirkier titles, will put that one out.

@kagon01:
My issue isn't - wholly - with the DL-only option, but the price. The first game should be $30. Maybe $40, and by that I mean $39.99. The only reason its $45 is the 360 disc version which has extras. Nevermind that by all rights its a PS2 game. Something that proabbly could have been done if the devs had the GOW2 engine or tools.

ClownBelt5825d ago

I approve of this god damn message.

Could have gotten my 60 bucks if they just put it on a disc.

Another exclusive damnn the ps3 keeps on rollin wit games awesome ;)

Jack-Pyro5825d ago

Is this a half decent SRPG, porn aside, cause if it is, i might just decide to go and buy it for the 360.

Anon73495825d ago

There's no porn just some sexual innuendos but that's it.

Also it is a great game by itself, maybe not graphically but everything else is top tier.

RedDevils5825d ago

so it had some kind of "top tier" porn story jk

ThanatosDMC5825d ago

Yup, it's a decent game. I just hate that a move has to go first before any attack options.
