The triggers are just fine.

I have problems with the L2 and R2 buttons on the controller. My fingers slip off when I'm holding them down for a while. It's fine for me when you have shooting mapped to R1, cause then I don't have a problem.

What's the difference? You press the same button, not to mention that looks FUGLY.

I'm surprised by the comments against this product. I'd love to love the sixaxis, but it makes my hand cramp, especially when I'm throttling in racing games. the sixaxis IMO is a just a slapped together retreat of a ps2 controller. I'm not an xbox 360 owner, and I hate to admit, it's a way more comfortable controller.

Thank Odin! The Playstation 2 controller is my favorite controller of all time, but sony completely ruined the sixaxis with those terrible, terrible L2 and R2 triggers! I just pray these add ons actually work. (Of course I could always get a PS2 controller converter, but I want wireless.) Thank you Thor!

imo, honestly, concave shape is better than convex one as trigger to me.

Hopefully these things will be cheap (5 bucks is reasonable). You guys have to realize that they're clip on. If aesthetic beauty is all that matters to you then I guess you should ignore what I'm saying.

To me, these things seem like a godsend. How many times have your fingers slipped while trying to take a turn really fast on Prologue? A slight twitch usually sends my car on a rapid dash to make out with the wall.

What's more important is that in COD4, when I set my controller down to grab some chips or a coke, I won't accidentally push the supersensitive R2 button and toss a grenade a foot ahead of me.

As ugly as they are...I'd probably buy them for extra comfort...

I was playing Gran Turismo 3 yesterday on my PS3 using the sixaxis. I like the triggers. I won't use them for shooting games because they're made with alot of sensitivity in mind. Plus I don't like using my middle finger to fire a gun. Frankly though, I'm definetly willing to give these a shot.

The triggers on the sixaxis almost seem like they're God's gift to the dpad though. Hold your sixaxis as if you're gonna use the dpad and it fits like crazy.

but i always assign the main buttons (fire, aim) to R1 and L1 like they are in CoD4. i just prefer those buttons.

None of my friends have problem with the controller and I dont only thing that is annoying is the R2 and L2 are really sensitive so if you put the controller down against your lap or somnething you can accidently frag yourself to death.

Also maybe the reason for u guys up top for slipping is the fact you use your middle finger to press the R2/L2 i use the pointer finger for all pressing on the buttons up top. Makes things much easier if you use your pointer finger everything is much easier and no slippage.

Edit: Just put my ps3 controller in my hand it is also to small to hold the controller that way and light makes my hand crap a little putting my middle finger where the R2/L2 is so yea thats prob the problem with you guys.

The ps1/2/3 controller was good 8 years back. I played resistence at a friends place and the controller felt so weak for fps gaming. For ps3 if they dint skimp on the gaming part and intead were busy making it a bluray player, they cud hv designed a better controller. After 360's solid controller this feels very weak.

If you notice everyone who complains about the PS3's controller have been playing Xbox for over 3years!!! Not once has an advid PS2 / PS3 player complained once about the PS3 controller excluding the lack of it's rumble capabilities.

It's common sense taht if your hands get use to playing a certain controller you'll feel awkward playing another.

Like playing a N64 controller, and somehow getting use to that, then going to play DreamCast... after getting use to that and picking up the XboX controller it'll feel weird.

Nobody liked the first Xbox controller because everyone was so use to using the PS2 controller.... c'mon now... I know it's hard to find something bad about the PS3 other than the fact that it lacks a large library of games right now.

But SHEEEESHHH! Atleast choose a reasonable arguement, and use some f*ckin logic.

360 gamers will say their pad is best
PS3 owners will say their pad is the best
PC gamers will say Keyborad and mouse is the best

back when i had my original xbox i used to hate the PS pad (never owned ps2) but now i own a ps3 i prefer that pad over the 360 one.

I find the PS3 controller very accommodating. It works for almost everything, and I love how sensitive it is....great for driving games. I like the top triggers for shooting games, though....better responsiveness.

That's ugly as sin. I've completed a whole bunch of games with the Sixaxis/Dualshock3 and the only time I had the slightest problem was when I put the pad down on my leg and one of the triggers was depressed when I didn't want it to be.

If you have to do something like this to the pad in order to use it you've got issues.

on the fugly controller comments. I've had no problems with the PS controller, but I would be lieing to you if I said that I didn't prefer the triggers in the 360. IMO, that's the only thing that the 360 controller has on the PS controller though.

i have np probs with the sixaxis now but my second player sixaxis R2 trigger gets jammed sometimes but that can be fixed with a little bit of WD 40 to loosen it up just a wipe down is fine for anyone who has the same problem.. DS3 is gonna be the Awsome

The triggers work fine for me on all styles of games, from racing to shooters to RPGs. But, hey, if this helps some people, then it is a good addition. Ugly though!

theyre really comfortable, everyone would be surprised how much better it makes the controller!

Haven't had an issue with the controller for 3 generations of Sony's consoles. It doesn't feel ideal for shooters because of the slight scrunched feeling of the analogs when you need to use both, but it's not hard to get used to if you keep at it.

The square button and R2 button on one of my old PS2 controllers get jammed sometimes, but I've had them for several years of heavy use, so it's surprising that they still even work at all.

I understand making different controllers though. What feels perfect to me will give hand cramps to the guy next to me.

We all have to be honest here, the triggers kind of suck. Triggers should be shaped like, well, triggers! Concave not convex. A little more resistance on it would be nice too. While the 360 controller feels like you're pushing against a spring the PS3 feels more like bent plastic is used for the resistance. Hopefully they'll address this when they add the rumble feature.

I dont see what the big deal is...I dont have any problems with the way Sony designed the PS3 controllers...i think everyone needs to stop whining and realize they made the controller pretty much the same for a reason, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

its kinda sad that some people are making a really big deal about this. Its an option. For some people this would help them. Personally i probably wouldn't use it, i would just prefer a slightly bigger controller. But even so its not that bad as it is.

Having owned both the PS controllers and Xbox controllers, I can give an informed opinion: The 360 controller absolutely assrapes the dualshock up and down. good day, droids.

i really like the way the triggers are on the PS3 controller.. i do have to admit that i think the xbox controller feels more natural for how the controller should be set up, but my hand usually cramps up if i play my 360 for more than about 3 hours at a time... i don't get that with my PS3 controller however... so who knows

i like how no one brings up the speed freak attachments for the 360 controllers. they are easily as pointless as "real triggers".

I completely can accept people saying they prefer the ps3 as a system. However, I own both systems and I can safely say that the 360 is the better controller. If the ps3 controller switched the d-pad with the left analog stick, had better trigger buttons and if the analog sticks were concave I'd say its just as good as the 360's.

However, I'm not shamefully biased towards everything Sony. The 360 controller fits me like a glove and the PS3 controller feels awkward. Even when I play my PS3 for (8) plus hours at a time (which rarely happens) and jump back to the 360 controller, it just feels soo much better with the concave analog stick design and triggers. Sometimes I don't know whether to use my index or middle finger for the half assed trigger buttons on PS3 while most shooter games on PS3 require the right upper bumper (1) as the main trigger to shoot... I can see why.

IMO, the Gamecube controller was the most comfortable tbh but the 360 controller is great expect for the crappy D-Pad. The PS3 controller is great as well but the triggers are not that great and my fingers slip off them sometimes. Also, the fact that its the same design is annoying, come on Sony for the PS4, change the controller design.

It's not that big of a deal there is no way to please everybody. Not everyone is gonna like the controller but the other triggers a cool for those that dont like the originals. Why fix if it aint broken.

Really I am happy with the ps3 triggers since most shootings for the ps3 use R1 and L1 so these triggers are a little absolete, but if I get a racing game, I would definitly get these add-ons.

Nah, I wouldn't mess about with the Sixaxis. Sony have kept the same controller design for somewhere near thirteen years, and no other company has even gotten near beating it. It's a quality design.

However, some will say that the 360 controller is more 'ergonomic' than the 360 pad, but I think that's a matter of personal preference. The only real problem I can think of with the Sixaxis is that an RTS probably woudn't feel right on the controller; although it's perfect for fighting games, arcade games, racing games, and (with the proper button mapping, for instance, Rainbow Six Vegas) first person shooters. It's the ultimate gamer's pad, and I am beside myself with joy (releif) that Sony didn't use those awful-looking boomerang-shaped controllers in the end.

Also, I like how 'Sixaxis' is the same word spelt backwards.

I like the triggers because they're a nice departure from an "all button" contoller. It's the reason why I always thought that the GameCube's controller was superb. Triggers provide better feedback and precision than buttons. For FPSs, it usually controls the firing of weapons and secondary functions (usually the left trigger). In a racing game, they provide the accelerator and handbrake (or brakes/reverse). In action games, usually some sort of grab/grapple hook/swinging funcion. Depends on the character attributes. Anways, to me triggers instead of shoulder buttons might seem like blaspemy to some people (wtf???) but to me it spells innovation.

The controller is great the way it is, i perfer the ps3 controller over the 360 controller. I just think its easier to take complete control of The D-pad. Although i must say i think i may perfer the xbox controller for sports games.

If you ask me, I agree with 360 users when I say the controller is more ergonomically designed to fit your hands better, but the PS3 triggers are better. They are a lot easier to use because of their close spacing, where as the 360 trigger is miles away from the whatever its called, right and left "bumpers", which if you ask me are retarded, they are hard to find when in the zone of a game and can lead to total disarray and death, or crashing. plus my roommate has gone through 3 controllers on his 360 already due to the battery pack being a piece of (explicit) which you dont have to worry about with the PS3 because there is no battery pack, its rechargable, which makes it 150% better than the 360...eat it bit#%es

yes, i like the twoaxis. it makes SIGNIFICANT leaps in making games more enjoyable, and not just repeticious "boiling down" and "simplifiction" of games that deserve to be experienced at their fullest. GAMES were meant to be CONTROLLED, way before they can even begin to be PLAYED. it's rudimentary, and it's an obvious given. so, likewise the controller has to be just as versatile as the ever changing face of what a game is. can it roll, dip and sway? or how about duck run and cover? if it can encompass all of the daring functions of todays next gen games, then it's a good controller.

I Only wish they were permanent .......I suppose I could Glue them .
The Sixaxis is a Beauty ..........but I would change this aspect for the practical.

ps3's suck. Thats why most shooter (COD4) have the default set-up with the top bumpers instead cuase the triggers are useless, and the shape of the controler gives you carpel. 360 for the win in thid dept.

Im used to it after gaming since the PS1.. and growing up with the dualshock. I dont really like the 360 controller but it is good for FPS. I do hate the d-pad though. I dont understand how people can complain about the SIXAXIS. Sure, I may have big hands but my fingers never slide off the analog sticks nor the trigger buttons. And this is after maybe 12 hour long sessions of Oblivion. The same for Folklore. Oh, and that 2 day-straight time of resistance online x.x... Great fun when it first came out!

I have no problem with the triggers other than they are a little sensitive. They should have a little dead spot before they work to prevent accidental discharges.

And why do so many people use them for racing? You've been playing too many xbox racers. The worst control scheme they every bought in just because they had these big springy triggers. The right analogue is better for accel/brake. Shoulder buttons are for gear changes.

I am not a huge fan of the PS3 controller anyway to be honest. I wish I could get an adapter to use my 360 controllers on it.

Now, if they came out with a PS3 controller that swapped the left Thumbstick with the D-pad ... I would be ALL OVER that. And if they are at it anyway, put a bit of weight in the PS3 controllers. Even my wife said they feel way to light and kind of cheap.

PS2 had OK controllers, never felt too much comfortable with them. I prefer the Logitech wireless one for the PS2

As for 360 vs PS3... I have to say I own a 360 and it is one of the most comfortable controllers I have used.

My favorite generation. So many incredible games at the perfect time in my life.

Some of the updates might be due to stability reasons. However, some might be for Blu-ray compatibility. Some people still use this for their physical media player.

sure the download was .. horrendously slow and installing things took forever, but damn.

listening to music, watching videos and looking at pics was so easy back then.
