My problem with the Wii like kinect and what i hope they fix is the choice of games, they need more mature titles, Silent hill and resi 4 on the wii where the only games i could ever get into before i sold the console

legend9115164d ago

The Wii U is puling on many new hardcore titles, should check it out.

PopRocks3595163d ago

I think more GOOD titles is more important than more mature titles.

Kinect has a mature title or two, but the thing is most Kinect games tend to suck. Seriously, how do you manage to fuck up a motion control Star Wars or Dragonball Z game?

THILLREBORN5164d ago

I'm going to take the wait and see approach everything I've heard, read and know about bill of materials concerns me about it...but we'll see

The CPU was not confirmed quad-core. Newest rumors from NeoGaf is tri-core but with a different architecture and more eDRAM than the Xenos. The GPU is a custom HD That isn't relatable to any off the shelf GPU.

The rest is believable.

yabhero5164d ago

If its based of power7 then it can't be tri-core. It been confirmed as power7 by IBM so at lowest level power7 is quad core...

Tenkay235163d ago

My good man, the CPU shares some characteristics of a Power7, such as architecture and the use of eDRAM instead of L3 cache.

"The Wii U CPU is designed by IBM. It is described by IBM as an "all-new, Power-based microprocessor",[64] the processor is a multi-core design manufactured at 45 nm with an eDRAM cache. Although neither Nintendo nor IBM has revealed detailed specifications, such as the number of cores, clock rate, or cache sizes, references to the chip containing "a lot" of eDRAM and "the same processor technology found in Watson"[65] indicate that the processor shares some characteristics with IBM's POWER7 processor, which powers the Watson computer system and incorporates a large L3 eDRAM cache.

The Wii U CPU will be produced by IBM at their 300 mm semiconductor manufacturing facility in East Fishkill, New York."

What?
Confirmed, but rumored?

Eeeh im missing on the logic there.

Interesting article. I like the bold predictions that other similar such articles have been unwilling to make. The screen size change is an interesting one... I do think the controller will see a lot of small refinements, like the circle pads and triggers, but I don't know about the screen, obviously. This was fairly conservative in terms of game announcements. Pikmin 3 has been in devfor so long that I could see it for launch. New Super Mario Bros Mii, as well, since they obviously had a build of it last year, and it will move a lot of units for Christmas. And there will be all the stuff we haven't heard about yet. E3 should be very interesting this year.

2EHO5164d ago

Yeah ibm said power7 CPU so 4 cores with each core running 4 threads do the math. On the GPU side I don't think the rumors are true as nintendo was using the 4850 GPU. That GPU is know for overheating and nintendo would NEVER take the cahnce of having a RROD type situation. So I do believe they would go with the 6000 series.

Goodbye New Mario, I Won't Miss You

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first Mario 2D game in almost two decades without the New Super Mario art style, and it looks all the better for it

Am I missing something? It looks exactly the same, just higher resolution… Is this sarcasm?

specialguest1078d ago

Yes, you're not observant if you think it looks exactly the same. It immediately appeared different to me from the start. Mario's 3D model will always be the same, so not much difference there. However, the animation they've given the Super Mario Wonder makes it look more like a CGI Mario animation where as the New Mario Bros game looks more like typical video game animation movements

__SteakDeck__1078d ago

@specialguest Yeah those animations are insane.

FinalFantasyFanatic1078d ago

You really didn't notice the difference? It's really obvious, I was surprised when I first saw the trailer.

Asplundh1078d ago

"Am I missing something?"

Your glasses maybe?

Juancho511078d ago

This Mario game looks great, getting a switch for this and Mario RPG. CANT WAIT, TITS JACKED.

Profchaos1078d ago

Yeah I liked how much more emotion could be conveyed through the new style at first glance I didn't see much difference but then rewatching the trailer I'm seeing more and more animations that remind me of the Mario artwork from the manual of smb3

Outlawzz1077d ago

I hated the new super Mario bros Style. This new one seems a lot more expressive and less generic. I hope it's a good game

shinoff21831077d ago

I prefer the 2d Mario's. Me and my girl have played them all together and mario galaxy , Mario odyssey. The 2nd player option is extremely eh

89% Metacritic another stellar creative game.

SkatterBrain2537d ago (Edited 2537d ago )

Well if Little Big Planet went 3d with Dreams then I guess marios going 3D maker next, looking forward to that

King_Noctis2537d ago (Edited 2537d ago )

I think going forward it would be redundant to have another NSMB game on the Switch as the Mario Maker series can accomplish almost anything the NSMB series have level-wise.

jjb19812537d ago

Could you imagine a Mario 64 maker? Phenomenal.

Jin_Sakai2536d ago (Edited 2536d ago )

I’d rather have a Zelda Maker. The dungeon builder on the new upcoming Zelda: Links Awakening looks like a testing ground.

https://screenrant.com/link...

Aonuma hinted at the possibility of Chamber Dungeons evolving into a Zelda Maker game in an interview with Kotaku during E3. Reporter Jason Schreier asked Aonuma directly if a Zelda Maker was in the cards, to which Aonuma replied:

“I can’t predict the future, but if people do love this idea of arranging dungeons, I’ll keep that in mind going forward.”
