Zhuk recently just turned on his PLAYSTATION® 3 and can gladly confirm that the Playstation Network is up and running for gamers to enjoy their gaming bliss.

It saddens zhuk to see that Microsoft has brainwashed it's slaves into paying a flat rate of 50.00 per year for a service that only works a quarter of said year.

It is down at the moment for me here in California. I can't play COD4 at all. Why are we paying 50 bucks for something that crap? I know LIVE has like 1 billion of contents but the ONLY reason that I hooked up my console to the Internet is to play online. I can careless about how many demos Live has.

Well, looks like you all get another free crappy Arcade game for Lives crappy issues and inconveniences!!.....Woooo!!

Now, imagine what would happen if they had DEDICATED SERVERS like Sony PSN.

its gonna take alot time for live to be as good as PSN.

I dont really care I'm always on UT3 and Warhawk on my new PS3.. I havent been on XBL in about 3 weeks. lolol I'm not even joking.

This is just a setup people, another opportunity to create FUD and proclaim PS3 dominance and how much better PSN is. The fanboys know PSN is nothing compared to XBL and they are trying there hardest to slag it as often and as much as they can.

I'm on XBL right now and so are a half dozen people on my friends list all in games, playing and not in a lobby.. Yes, the 360 you can see that unlike with PSN where you can only see what game your in.

I see there are more PS3 fans here to hate. How about you people try to cross game invite. In game voice chat with any one no matter what game they are playing. You try only having one single sign on for every luxury that live offers. PSN is only number 2 for online console services because the Wii offers freaking surveys as an online service over game play.

Don't worry LIVE is not down it's just massivly crippled!!! Just logged into LIVE and NOBODY is playing COD4 My friend could not get on either. I usually have 5 or 6 buddies at any givin point in time but not right now. Everyone is playing weird random games and the only person playing online is a friend playing Guitar Hero. SO to repeat LIVE is not down completely it's just not allowing anyone to get online to play the games we all really want to play. 1 proud owner of the PS3 and 1 embarrased and slightly tired of all the BS owner of 360.

X Box 360 fanboys, it's seriously time to start re-evaluating your devotion to a company that releases a machine that is prone to

1.) hardware failures - Red Rings
2.) laggy online - practically every 360 multi-player game released (like Gears of War)
3.) scratching discs
4.) online that isn't as stable as it should be, considering you are *PAYING for it.

i know the 360 is a good system, but you all have been getting raked over the coals for the better part of a year now. it's time to wake up, and realize that MS doesn't *CARE about you, or giving you the quality service you deserve.

for the record, Sony doesn't care much, either, but at least their console is *RELIABLE. with reliable hardware, reliable online, and it's free.

once systems like Home hit, the community aspect of online gaming will be taken care of, so there won't be much incentive to pay for Live. personally, i think it should be free, like PC and PS3 gaming, but that's just me.

it's not too late to pick up a PS3 to sit next to your 360, so that when stuff like this happens, you can at least *STILL play something.

Every silver lining has got a touch of gray. This is not a current event, XBL has been down for three weeks. PSN with its dedicated servers and advanced technology can only bring you a true and eventful online experience. Even with Xboxs release of Goldeneye will not persuade gamers if they cannot access their paid for online train ticket. To many gamers this is the last straw, Some are still shaking their heads in disbelief, Disbelief that Santa would put such an evil gift under their tree. I had slow down and errors(can't retrieve data) today and after an hour everything went back to normal and XBL loads and functions better and faster than it has ever done now as of today every time.

Cable outages can be caused by many things believe me I call Comcast about my HD channels once a month at the most wondering why my quality is back and forth and has also caused XBL issues from the ISP end.

Outages can either cause complete failure or it can cause low signal or weak signal strenth that will cause issues when people think everythings fine.

Sure there was a valume issue with XBL from the surge of new 360 owners but to troll forums for bad news is moronic at best theres always going to be issues people file on forums. Could be that their god dam ISP was overwhelmed. Who knows you can troll anti 360 news all day and find complaints and post them as news adding fanboy editing all day.

Hey sonydroids, i've had gold membership since june 06. And only last 2 weeks have i had this problem. Even yesterday while playing cod4 online, i ws getting disconnected or match was ending with connection error etc. But i still love this service which has given us so many good demos,moives, addon etc. You go and play with ur 10 - 15 odd people on psn and leave our issues alone. We'll see when or if psn ever reaches this kind of gaming audience, even with say 7million ps3 owners and with free service you dont even have 1 percent of that online. Thats a shame. Go watch Blu and turn blu.

I actually feel sorry for 360 gamers. I would be pissed If i spent money on XBL and I can't even play the games that I really want to play online with friends. I would be really frustrated. When I had my 360 all I did was play Halo 2 online, SF2... pretty much everything played was online. If I still had a 360, and no PS3... I would've tourched my Xbox if it didnt give me the RROD by now.

Only game I am having trouble with is COD4...other then that the dashboard has actually been moving alot faster then normal.....jus need to play CoD now....I can play it just cant be intermittent at times

speaking for myself I have been trying to sign up since the Dec 27 2007 and all I get is that sign up is unavailable. What is really annoying is that you have to spend a couple of minutes with the process and then you get told that it is not available. So the statement form M$ that live is back up has in my experience never been true. As for customer service; useless. I don't doubt that M$ wants to fix this b/c it is part of their business; but I do not appreciate the lack of information from them or my time being wasted.

When I got my 360 back from Microsoft on 12/27 they sent along a free month of Live, but I've been waiting to use it until they have this mess straightened out.

how many times has xbox live gone down sinse you had your systems lets see ive had mine for 2 years now and this makes the first so let ms work on it make it better wich they will.as for a free game they should give a free month of service.

It sucks if XBL is down and Microsoft should throw in some free points since it seems to be a problem as of late. BUT I've had the same problem on my PS3 now and then but they never say there's a problem with PSN. (And it's not my internet connection b/c when it happens I always test it.) At least Microsoft is admitting there's an issue. Now just throw in some points and we'll all be happy :)

I purchased it on Dec 16th and for 90% of the time Live for ME has been Crap!

I can techically login but everytime I try to join a game of Halo, I get to wait for 5 mins. It looks like it finds players for the game and then the "Resetting Search" box pops up and starts again.

Unfortunately worse then this is my messenger hasn't worked for the same time so I cant even chat to the 20 people on my friends list to see what they are up to.

But on a good note Goldeneye on live could be awesome!!!
