Shadowrun Returns' Jordan Weisman: No Console Version Planned

Chris Buffa (Modojo): As we reported over the weekend, the Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter campaign reached one million dollars, despite series creator Jordan Weisman's initial request of $400,000. The additional funding lets the team at Harebrained Schemes build another city within the game, and they don't plan to stop there. If funding reaches $1.5 million (there are 11 days left), the developers will create an exclusive mission for all the "backers", AKA people who donated.

On that note, we connected with Jordan again to see how things are going, and whether this influx of cash could result in Shadowrun Returns appearing on more platforms.

It won't be since no console version is planned.

Well maybe it will be more hardcore for it.
Todays consoles market are not the same.

this looks nothing like cod. PC gamers seem to buy old style games more.

That is why a game like torchlight 2 is made for pc first.

being on console these days is usually of sign of it being much worse than it could have been.

That's the trouble with "investing" with Kickstarter: you don't know what you're investing in. What platform going to be supported if its not multiple.

lastdual5046d ago

Um, you would know if you just read the Kickstarter project description before investing, particularly the parts where they tell you which platforms the game will be released on...

madjedi5046d ago

Well that sucks for fans of the old snes shadowrun that are console gamers, but that is just life.

play it on pc... its much better this way, everyone has a pc. Im guessing it will run on just about anything as well.

All three of these games are fucking badass

jonos2113d ago

Yeah, I also loved SNES version of Shadowrunner, it was my favorite childhood game.

nitus102113d ago

Sega (Genesis/Mega Drive) came out with one in 1994 and IMHO it was a more sophisticated game than the SNES one although I actually prefered the simpler SNES version.
