GameZone's David Sanchez writes: "If you weren't a fan of Strider back in the day, stay away from it now, because it really shows its age."
In the past two years, Ninja games seem to have made a comeback. ININ, Sega, Dotemu, and others have all thrown their names into the arena. Thus far, the quality of each company’s aforementioned games has been high from what we’ve been shown. And in the case of ININ and Dotemu, can literally play their offering as of the writing of this article. Right now, no matter which retro revival ninja franchise you favor, you’re guaranteed a quality game.
You know who should get a remaster ( graphical recreation not remake, the gameplay is perfect) ? Goh the crow from Shinobido.
Shinobido is the metal gear solid of ninja games...
Some of us gamers still enjoy 2D games. The likes of UN Squadron, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Final Fight, Strider are all due sequels in 2D. Most of these games would probably run off the same engine. Go back to the 8 bit and 16 bit days and you could pull out a ton of 2D games due a sequel.

The Humble Capcom Heroic Collection Bundle just launched recently. It has ten items including Monster Hunter Rise, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, and more.
I took advantage of the $1 deal for lost planet 3, strider, bionic commando and mega man. 3 of them run great on my steam deck. bionic commando sadly does not.
ive left humble bundle long time ago the pricimng is now off as well as game collection. humble monthly used to be excellent but thasts also downhill

Grab your katana, and slice your way through this list featuring the best hack and slash games the PlayStation 3 had to offer.
Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.
heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.
I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
i loved it when i was a kid, but i haven't played it since then. i need to play it again since i still have a Genesis copy.
lol, i was just watching videos of it today.
it is hard to go back to the classics when we are so used to modern day graphics and game mechanics. i guess you had to have suffered through them back in the day to have any tolerance to them.
honestly i never played the genesis or arcade version the whole way through but i played the nes one and loved it. its part of what used to make capcom great.
would love for them to give the "bionic comando rearmed" treatment to this classic.
The NES version kind of "holds up", since the controls were @ least managable. The arcade/Genesis version, no. The controls were a mess then & even more of a mess now.
Some games, however, yes, you did have to play it in its prime to understand some of its greatness. Although I never beat Strider, it was moments, like walking into a movie theater & playing it while you wait for your movie to start, that adds to its greatness.
A game that held up extremely well is Super Metroid!
I've just recently 'revisited' the game & ended it all over again. & while it was fun & I was able to still appreciate the brilliant design, nothing beats them moments of staying up to the sun rises, playing Super Metroid back in the day.
IMO, playing a game during its era/prime adds to your personal overall enjoyment/experience.
