Valve employee reveals 'Next-gen Gaming Hardware' is in development, amid hints in job listings.

FuRyu revealed on Friday its Exstetra fantasy role-playing game is getting an HD remaster that will launch this summer on Steam.

Valve is reportedly updating its Steam platform to include a native 30-day price history feature on game store pages.
If this rumor holds true, the next generation of gaming is going to be very interesting. Its kind of exciting to see a new player in the game.
"U have a new challenger"
Looking forward to see what Valve brings to the table. I hope this is an actual game console. New hardware will provide a much needed shake up in the gaming industry. It has been the same 3 fighting the good fight for a good long time now.
Rated E For Everyone
Well if they do bring a console over it be based on a PC structure with about as much kick ass to run games that steam client distributs.
So if thats the case then i think the console if it is one will be disc based but also offering you its steam client, Like XBL ,PSN. Only it have alot more lol.
This bodes very well for the wallets of cash-poor gamers everywhere. Very exciting if true.
Steam is great as a digital service - but I think it takes more than that to make a great console. I'd still be suspicious of something like this, and I love Valve.
All I care about is the potential for said box. Granted, it seems difficult to compete in this day and age where people like Sony and even Nintendo struggle to keeps these consoles flowing like they used to, but one major thing Steambox will have is to have your account tied to it.
I already own over 250 games on steam and instead of sitting tied down to my computer (although I do have it hooked up to my living room/gaming tv) it would eliminate the confusion for other less informed people to worry about will "my PC run this or my new graphics card costs $400 but I can't afford it right now"
Exciting times are coming... To say the least.
