@Jackson: Dead? I disagree. IMO it will continue to sell, while still holding on to its minority percentage of the marketshare. Sony fans will keep this alive no matter what, just like Nintendo fans kept GCN alive..

well the vita gets less exclusves than the 3ds, psp, ps3 so its only natural its going to be behind those systems, and unless it gets massive ammounts of exclusives of its own its going to be dead by years end

People (fanboys) complained about the 3DS sales and the lack of really good games at the start, now it's the same with PS Vita, but much much worse.

I hope we can have some nice games on the Vita soon, this thing needs a boost.

all platforms declined except the 360. What sparked the increase? I would expect it to be roughly the same as last week or in a decline like the rest but that is actually impressive.

The 3DS price cut is hurting the Vita. I have a 3DS for the kids but I "feel" Vita will get a price cut so I am holding out. There is not a game yet driving me to get a Vita now. Plus, I do want to spend 300+ right now for a bundle when I think the price is going to go down by Christmas. If the 3DS never cut the cost I would not have the feeling Vita would cut cost orr at least provide a better bundle at current cost.

I doubt it. It's not really Sony's style, for one. For another, they kinda can't afford the losses that would mean. If the Vita's sales continue to be this slow, it'll just have to struggle through until they pick up.

And they will. It's doing poorly in Japan right now because so few of the games available are what the Japanese market wants out of its handhelds. For example, there's no Monster Hunter yet, and that most assuredly counts as a system seller in Japan, though it means little to most here in the West. In fact, just that one game might be enough to turn the Vita's sales around. It's simply a matter of it happening.

It's not much different from people here wait for COD, Assassin's Creed, and Bioshock before they grab a Vita. I mean, they COULD get one now- like I did- and already have it and a few free games or less than important (to them) titles like escape plan or some PSP games (and PS1, when that gets up and rolling). But people tend to want to wait until the games they KNOW they want are out, even knowing those very games are coming.

I couldn't wait. The ONLY game I wanted was Gravity Rush. I honestly didn't (and mostly still don't) care about those other games I mentioned, but I DID wind up grabbing The Show while it had a deal with the PS3 version, and P3P and Tactics Ogre for the PSP. And since I've still got time before the game I wanted comes out, I may wind up getting even more. For me, that's worth being an early adopter.

Not everybody feels that way, though. And it's hard to blame them.

OT, Good sales for the 3ds. Vita... I can't quite remember, but before the price cut announcement I'm pretty sure that the 3ds never fell into the 4 digit range.

Another week has passed, and Nintendo has dominated the charts once more with the Nintendo 3DS entertainment system. Moving more units from store shelves then its competitors by a significant margin. Landing the Nintendo 3DS entertainment system in a position to continue to lead the industry forward as it has been for months on end.

Numbers don't lie, and these numbers tell the true story of the gamers of Japan voting the Nintendo 3DS entertainment system to the top of the charts. Just as they have with the original Nintendo DS entertainment system a generation ago.

This could not have been possible without the love and support from Nintendos elite fanbase, and the consistent release of AAA quality 1st and 3rd party Nintendo 3DS exclusive titles. Things are looking mighty fine in the world of Nintendo leading into E3 2012. Where we will more than likely witness more epic announcements of Nintendo exclusives, and all things Nintendo. Vita Is a FLOP.
its only fair when the $249 3ds was selling 4x the amount that the vita has now, the 3DS was deemed a failure on n4g.

so logically its only right to assume the vita is a failure since its sales aren't even touching 1/2 the sales figures that the 3ds was doing in q2 2011 #6.1.3
