Kinect Star Wars: Not a Hardcore Game

GameBandits: "And the award for stating the obvious goes to Mr. Glenn Gregory, Senior Product Manager at Terminal Reality – the developers of Kinect Star Wars. As if it wasn’t immediately obvious from the very first trailer and their entire marketing strategy, Gregory has dropped the bombshell that Kinect Star Wars is not aimed at the hardcore gaming market."

I'm still waiting.

What's the next title to get the 'core' hopes up then? Ryse? Steel Battalion?

I Never say never to any hardware but can we stop with the articles giving false hopes, it's making the wait for a game that appeals to me very hard.

TekoIie5155d ago

I really want RYSE :) I just hope that trailer wasnt fake gameplay like the star wars Kinect one that we saw a few years ago.

Wasn't it aimed for young kids¿

OC_MurphysLaw5156d ago

In fairness... Once i saw video of the game I never looked at it as a "core" gamer experience.

correct sir, anybody who thought different is an idiot.

whats worse, anybody who thinks that any game using solely kinect could ever be a "core" game. its a casual device meant for casual games and famillies. nothing more, nothing less. if you cant see that by now then jokes on you.

now dont get me wrong, it can "lend" to the core experience similar to how mass effect did it but it cant be used as the sole device in controlling a "core" game.

unless.....it somehow becomes ultra accurate, tracks fingers, and is used to control an rts game. would be really sweet to just point at units and click where to go/ what to attack etc

lol, say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

I bet many people bought Kinect on the back of Microsoft's claims that Star Wars would be the only Lightsaber game you'd ever wish to own.

I find it's always wise to be cautious when it comes to huge corporations.

One of the worst things to happen to Star Wars was it being exclusive to Kinect when PS Move could have been a better version because of "buttons" per Kevin with better tracking. And the controller looking like a light saber hilt. Or, had an actual light saber game similar to the dojo in Vader Immortal.

But the miming lies on the Microsoft E3 stage was icing on the cake of this garage. Wasn't even live gameplay. Just bad acting. Nothing ground breaking about this travesty.

Star Wars is Best Suited for AA Gaming, Not AAA

WTMG's Leo Faria: "This piece wasn’t meant to say that Star Wars‘ gaming future is ruined forever, nor that there isn’t a chance for a good AAA Star Wars game to come out in the near future. I need to reiterate that, yes, I’m looking forward to Jedi Fallen Order. Then again, as a massive Star Wars fan, like most of you I miss the days when we would get loads of titles a year, each one focused on one specific feature of the franchise. I’d rather have a slew of smaller Star Wars games being released every year, some good and some not as good, than one big generic title being released every two years. These are always at the risk of being criticized due to typical AAA practices like expensive season passes, cut content, or microtransactions. Had Disney allowed for anyone, especially mid-range developers and publishers, to bring their creative and risk-free ideas to life, I’m sure fans would have rejoiced. And Disney’s pockets would most certainly fill up faster than nowadays."
