When it was revealed that Capcom’s latest fighter Street Fighter X Tekken had its upcoming DLC already on disc it caused quite the online riot. How dare Capcom try to charge extra for content already on the disc, fans screamed. Capcoms defense was simply, “”There is effectively no distinction between the DLC being ‘locked’ behind the disc and available for unlocking at a later date, or being available through a full download at a later date, other than delivery mechanism. ” Normally I defend companies like Capcom from fan hatred but really Capcom? No distinction?
Give me a fucking break.

Capcom has clarified its current stance on generative AI in its videogames. The major Japanese publisher and developer behind popular series like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter has revealed that while it doesn't use gen-AI assets in their games, it is exploring ways to use generative AI to streamline the game development process.
Using Artificial Intelligence (more like Realistic Stupidity) art assets in your games is a great way to get people to boycott your product. We don't need that ugly, unsophisticated, generic, fake art in our games, good on CAPCOM for not using that garbage.
Naw you can't fool us, You work with Nvidia, that's a fact! And here you wanted to advertise but now look stupid!
seriously, this is so bent. how can they justify this idea? i don't care how they put it, the content is already on the disk and therefore i already bought it.
would you buy a CD Album of your favourite singer and then be happy to pay the music label money to unlock more tracks from the album?! that you just 'bought'!!!! this is extortion, clear and simple
Capcom, along with other notorious publishers are all going to suffer in the long run if this kind of behaviour continues. In the pursuit of maximum profits they are going to drive away customers.
I wonder how long it will be till this kind of thing is highlighted on BBC's Watchdog.
No, there really is no difference. If they're going to charge extra for something then big Freaking whup if its already on the disc, its just like buying a piece of software that has you pay to unlock features.
It's not like they advertised that the 12 characters, gems, etc would be free or available at launch.
