Trendy Gamers: The second quarter of 2012 may very be the best in a long time for RPG’s. After a sluggish start on the role-playing front, this generation of consoles has finally gotten its act together. While the past seven years have seen gamers forced to wait for months at times between decent RPG releases, the Spring and Summer of 2012 look to more than make up for the past droughts.

Alexander Morton, the Scottish actor probably best known for starring in British comedy drama Monarch of the Glen - but known to me for being the hilariously foul-mouthed dwarf Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 - has died aged 81.

Xenoblade Chronicles series composer Manami Kiyota has possibly finished the final orchestra recording for the next Monolith Soft title.
Makes sense. It's been nearly 3 years since the DLC for 3 came out. The next Xenoblade or whatever they end up calling it will probably come out next year.

NE: "Today, we're taking on the difficult task of ranking every single game in the Xenoblade Chronicles series from best to least best."
For me, Xenoblade 2 and 3 and Final Fantasy 7 remake and rebirth are the best JRPGs or RPGs in general ever made. Yes, they even surpassed Expedition 33 in my honest opinion. Before, the Tales series was among my favorites, but I was very disappointed with their last game, Tales of Arise. Its world has become linear and not as expansive as their previous games. Fortunately, its battle gameplay is still very good. I hope that in the next Tales game, they will expand the game even more.
Hoping for a new Xenoblade game from Monolith Soft in this year's Nintendo General Direct. And it should be a Switch 2 exclusive.
The "worst" Xenoblade game is still better than 95% of games out there. Xenoblade 2 is my favorite rpg ever. All the Xenoblade games have incredible characters, soundtracks, voice acting, stories, world design and combat (save for Xenoblade 1 whose combat, while good, is not incredible).
Gonna be hitting Xenoblade Chronicles hard over my brother's house.
Yeah, April is definitely going to be all about Xenoblade for me; a friend in Europe was telling me she put more than 100 hours into that game. Can't wait!
I do not like this article. To much senseless generalization
"Xenoblade proves that the traditional JRPG can adopt modern gameplay elements and still stand out as a viable and exciting genre."
This isnt traditional, it adopts the ff 12 mmo single player style battle system. Rpgs from japan have been thriving this gen, over 200, its always been exciting and viable, we dont need this kind of sensationalism.
And they just ignore, disgaea 3......
game of thrones is confirmed shovel ware, risen 2 is just not good, dragon dogma is not an rpg
and darkstalkers is NOT AN RPG..............
And no mention of gungir.................I mean come on
@ below
I apologize, I had fighting games on the brain..........
Oh and why no mention of fire emblem and kingdom hearts? both games comeing out this quarter
This was a really great quarter for rpgs graces f, devil survivor 2, 13-2, suikoden psp, beyond the L, tales of graces, and more
You mean a great time for tradition jRPG "ADVENTURE" games? Yeah, it is. My RPG period was when Dark Souls and Skyrim released within a single quarter. I don't consider jRPG's with linear features within the realm of the Gary Gygax RPG genre at all. Nor am I impressed by all these sensationalist articles by marketing folk whose eyes boggle everytime someone flashes them a quarter.
I'm here for the Khaleesi
