This would be brilliant. Everyone’s rushing around stumbling over PS4 and Xbox 720 and – hello – in comes Apple with an official controller for the iPad and iPhone.

The saga of the legal battle that sees Epic Games fight Apple in the attempt to bring Fortnite back to iOS has just gained another chapter.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney notes that the mobile gaming industry is "largely broken," and blames the 30% tax levied by Apple and Google.
Man has been saying this for ages and knows full well the only thing he wants is more money at Apple and Google's expense and absolutely none of this will result in lower prices for the consumer.
The epic games store charges a 12% tax and has been losing money for 5 years...that sounds dysfunctional.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney revealed that they have spent $1 billion fighting Apple and Google but adds it's a "smam price" to pay for freedom.
Fortnite on the Google Play Store would've generated over $1 billion in percentage fees for Google. Smart move.
I buy most my pc games through epic now. Don’t get me wrong I love steam and steam has had a lot of my money for the work they put into the platform. But i like what Epic are fighting for and they’ve been open about it from the very beginning. I wish they would sort out their verify/repair files option for when you format your drives. The whole rename/redownload hack is an absolutely awful archaic solution.
It would be brilliant to tote around a controller that's as big as your iPhone? And with no dedicated developer support...
If anyone is "rushing around stumbling over" anything, it's this nonsense that iOS is a solid gaming platform. It's okay. It's a distraction. It's a fun, little playground for when you don't feel like playing real games on handhelds/consoles/PC.
C'mon, if you can name more than 5 worthwhile "iOS exclusives" that are still exclusive to iOS, I would be surprised. It's simply a matter of quality: yeah, you have a ton of games, but a ton of them...well, let's just say there's a reason they only cost $.99.
If they do it will be 50-100$ and still lack quality exclusives to define the platform....unless apple starts buying up studios .... but even then Apple's current idea of gaming doesnt fit my preference.
One thing is guaranteed though if Apple makes a controller, the media will be much worse than what they are now in comparing the Ipad to everything gaming, and the worst thing is......controllers on tablets isnt a new thing....SMH
There are already controller for it but hardly any games support it.
Meanwhile, Android users are already playing games with PS3 controllers via Bluetooth. Apple, of course, doesn't want your grubby hands on anything that wasn't made by Apple, so they will make this controller and charge you $150 for it, no doubt.
So basically people convinced themselves tablets were awesome (i do feel the same mind you , with limited uses for it) because so light , so thin , so much more portable than portable pcs , only to be later amazed by ludicrous stuff like plugging a whole dock for a keyboard and now a pad ?
Ok then , good job
