FFX Doesn't deserve to be on that list.

Snookies125158d ago (Edited 5158d ago )

Hell no it doesn't, that was one of the BEST endings. Screw that man, if you didn't like that ending they obviously have no heart lol.

justpassinggas5158d ago

Yeah, I'm dumbfounded how the author can say FFX has the worst ending and says that those other games, which weren't story driven like Mass Effect had "bad" endings in comparison. When a role-playing game has a non-ending, like Mass Effect, people are going to be pissed. On the other hand, when a role playing game has an amazing ending, people are going to refer to the game as one of the best games of the series. FFX ranks number 2 in my opinion in the FF series, right after FF6.

crxss5158d ago

i see the author's point why he doesn't like FFX's ending, but then i'd say he's wrong. just because the main character "dies" doesn't make it a bad ending. first off, Tidus was a dream and everyone knew that by defeating Sin he would fade away as well. That's one of the things that made that ending very emotional and dramatic and made FFX one of the best story games to date.

also if you get the perfect ending you see that he awakens and swims back up to the surface. absolutely can't wait for FFX HD

Xalaris5158d ago (Edited 5158d ago )

Wow, FFX is on this list because he doesn't know why the protagonist dies?
I'm surprised this dumbass didn't add Shadow of the Colossus in there since Wander also dies "mysteriously".
In my opinion a protagonist dying in an RPG (or really any game in general) just makes it more dramatic and adds to the emotional value of the story. I really don't understand why everyone complains about it.

*edit
I forgot that he didn't actually die, he was just, uh.. made pure?

Reibooi5158d ago

It seems the reason the writer put FFX on the list is basically not understanding the ending and I'm sorry but that is not a excuse. FFX had a great ending it was extremely well done. You don't understand it? Ok well then ask someone who did to explain it to you(If they say FFX is one of their favorite games as the writer did I have no idea how you could not understand how great the ending was as it's pretty well explained what Tidus is and why he disappears.)

Pumbli5157d ago

I agree that FFX wasn't a bad ending. I was so happy to see Tidus 'die' that it rates among some of my favorite game endings.

I really friggin' hate Tidus.

Good game though.

Omnislash5157d ago

This is a bad article, first of all FFX has one of the greatest and deepest stories out there, its ending was incredible and very emotional since the game is very story driven. The rest of these endings are just your typical, whatever endings you get in a game that is all about gameplay.

agree with everyone ffx and part 2 had great ending i wish other games followed suit

Snookies125158d ago

Yeah, X-2 had a great ending, but the game's script was just plain awful. Honestly I don't know who did the writing for that game, but there were some lines in that game that made me literally cringe.

Don't get me wrong, the game was fun and all, but it paled in comparison to its predecessor.

FFx is one of my fav games I would never put it on these list ...

The author just got lost that all it was a great game and in MY view the last GOOD Jrpg square has done ..

Love it and il get it once they put it out for the HD Remake .. (hope they let me play it on my VITA) lol

PooEgg5158d ago

I agree. FFX actually has one of my favorite endings.

catfrog5157d ago

but they wouldnt get any hits if they didnt put a game on their that everyone liked.

you see, they put a game that they know most people enjoyed and then everyone goes there to complain about how bad of a list it is, but they dont care how bad of a list is, they only care that you come to their site.

FFX is probably my favorite game ending of all time. Whoever wrote this needs to get off the pipe!

MattMNZ5158d ago

I havent played FF myself (im not the article author!), but from the other comments it seems that FF fans cant even agree what the ending was about! LOL

RedDead5158d ago (Edited 5158d ago )

Yeah they can, only idiots can't. All you have to do is bloody pay attention. It's explained perfectly well during the game. It's simply. Tidus disappears because Yu Yevon is killed(yes this is also given a thorough explanation). That guy in the article thinks Tidus is to become the next Sin. The whole last 5 hours of the game happened simply because Tidus was not going to become it.

Oh and FFX-2 doesn't exist to me. I will never play it.

Megaman_nerd5158d ago

I beat FFX-2 and you're doing the right thing. Don't play it. The game is a total waste of time.

Nerdmaster5158d ago

Too bad for you. X-2 is actually a good game, with a fun battle system, good job system, we can see Yuna a little more human instead of the eternal "white mage stereotype" she was on the first game, it shows what happened to many characters, and we get an explanation to that last scene after the credits on the first game.

Hicken5158d ago

It really isn't that hard to get, honestly. Still, even the most obvious of things will still confuse some people.

GillHarrison5158d ago

You can't really say that old Nintendo and arcade games had bad endings. What do they expect? Cut-scenes? Haggard list.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio14d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing14d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit14d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing14d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
