One of the first big games of 2008 has to be Devil May Cry 4, coming this February from Capcom. We recently met with Hiroyuki Kobayashi, the game's producer, for a detailed chat about the series' next-gen gothic world, new protagonist Nero and his powerful new techniques, and much more besides.
Kobayashi is quick to point out that, although massive releases like Ninja Gaiden, God of War and Heavenly Sword are all big names that are very similar, Devil May Cry was here first, and he's here to tell you why Capcom thinks it's still best.
With the release of the Devil May Cry series on Netflix, we take a moment to look back on this almost 20-year-old series and let you know the best of the best.

5. DMC4 7.5/10 (Hated Nero, repeat bosses, Dante was the saving grace but only about half the game)
4. DmC 7.5/10 (solid overall, some great ideas, meh story, dialog sucked, and the director almost killed DMC)
3. DMC1 8.5/10 (all around solid)
2. DMC5 9/10 (carried by Dante & Nero gameplay, I didn’t like V’s, Nero’s better but still not a fan)
1. DCM3 10/10 (chef’s kiss)

WHAT!? who in their right mind would put 2 near the top (not at the bottom) unironically?
I think all of them are worth playing in their own right honestly, except 2 unless you REALLY want to experience the whole series.
I honestly don't know what the author was smoking, personally I'd rank DMC3 as no.1, maybe DMC5 as second, DMC1 as third, DMC4 as fourth, and DMC as fifth and DMC2 last. such a bizarre list, mybe the author just has strange taste.

This and putting DMC 2 number 2 is all I need to ignore this ranking. DMC2 is absolute trash and it's clear this person doesn't understand exactly why.

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
Two Devil May Cry games have been delisted on Steam. As shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Wario64, Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition and Devil May Cry 4 are no longer available to purchase.
Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.
Well, DMC4 special edition has a lot of issues to run from Steam.
I have to get a modded executable to even be able to run the game on Windows 10.
Not sure if it is because the game runs in DirectX10 or what, but it sucks they have not even tried to fix it.
DMC4 Special Edition is not delisted, it was just the standard version, it has nothing to do with issues of performance or anything alike. Its just that Capcom probably do not want to sell the standard version, neither the standalone DMC3 version.
IMHO Devil May Cry 4 will be the biggest hack and slash this year. I will eventually get it for PS3, but I'll get the PC version first. Besides, the special edition DVD discs will be downloadable anyway for PC. I'm sure that whatever extra contect heads to both PS3 and 360 version, will be downloadable for PC as well. With the new gaming rig I'm getting, if it can run Crysis on high settings with a resolution of 1280x1024 or even 1024x768 @30FPS+ then I should be able to run Devil May Cry 4 on everything maxed out, the res maxed out and all @ 60FPS+. Ofcourse, it depends how they will optimize the PC port but all-in-all, Devil May Cry 4 will NO doubt be an awesome game!
lol,the PC version will not be released in like 7 or 8 month or maby the end of 08,so dmc4 will be out by then.
plus what's the deal with getting dmc4 on pc when you have a ps3 or 360?

The PC version of Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition did suck...but they might fix it for Devil May Cry 4. I am hoping so...
