Battlefield 3 User Interface was outsourced

Battlefield 3's UI has been criticized a lot, and now it's revealed that the design of the UI was outsourced and not done by DICE.

My only problem of the HUD is it has so much clutter. Do i really know where sites, A, B, C etc. are at all times and right in my face? cmon thats what the mini-map is for and after like tens of hours of playing I am sure everyone knows where objectives are located. clutter takes away from the immersion.

should have option to turn it off

enfestid5156d ago

Yes, I'd say you really do, as it can be very disorienting at times -- especially when you spawn. I'm not sure how having the objectives of a game shown on screen is clutter.

konnerbllb5156d ago

I'm not sure how having objectives on the screen is NOT clutter. It's too much. I feel SJPFTW's post was 100% accurate. If you want your hand held while playing video games I suggest you play nintendo.

enfestid5156d ago

Go play Nintendo? Now you're just trolling.

You keep saying it's too much, but you never explain how. Having a minor graphic displaying the location of objectives is clutter? How? Explain it to me. Because they're essential to the game modes.

I can't tell ya how many times I spawn and see a friend icon above an enemies head. Ally is actually 5 miles away, but it looks like another buddy running through base at times.

Mini-map + reticule is all I really need. Ally names should be colored when you point at them. Otherwise don't give me little arrows floating in front of me if they are not visibly in front of me.

Its not very console friendly. Obviously made for a keyboard and mouse.

I haven't had much of an issue with the UI.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

A Day After Launch, Battlefield 6 Beta Already Has Cheaters, but DICE Quickly Cracks Down With a Ban

DICE is quickly banning cheaters in the Battlefield 6 beta, with a developer confirming that they are aware of the hacks.

raWfodog274d ago

They need to add an option for crossplay with other console players only. Otherwise I’ll definitely deactivating crossplay altogether. These cheaters on PC are already ruining this game and it’s still a few months from general release.

What’s the appeal in cheating @ multiplayer? Deep down, you must know you suck lol. Yay?

jjb1981273d ago

I never understood that. I remember a guy that commented on a YT video I saw had said that he uses Cronus because he works a lot and doesn't have time to sweat. Lol, I was like "wtf?".

PRIMORDUS269d ago

Developers should find a way that if they detect your cheating in a game, have it so none of your shots register against other players, you can't kill anyone. Bascially, you would be useless in that game LOL.

Battlefield 3 Cut Missions From Campaign Detailed by Former DICE Dev

Battlefield 3's former Lead Designer has revealed that there were two cut missions from the main campaign

XiNatsuDragnel487d ago

I wish someone can get those EA game leaks to see all the cut content ngl

anast487d ago

Get rid of campaigns, move the game to mobile, and try to compete with warzone. They would save time and money.

Bf4 was fun hope the new bf is just as good.
