i think Notch has done it pretty good by himself, and will continue to do so.

$2 for a dirt block...

nuff said :)

UPDATE: EA has provided us with the following official statement in response to allegations that the "DIRT BLOCK" day one DLC for DIRT BLOCK 3 was on the disc:

"DIRT BLOCK is a 600 MB+ download with all new content, including the mission on DIRT BLOCK, new dialogue options and conversations with DIRT BLOCK, new cinematics, the DIRT BLOCK weapon, and new appearances for all DIRT BLOCK. All of the above content was completed while the main game was in certification and are not available on the disc.

"As stated previously, in order to seamlessly integrate DIRT BLOCK into the core campaign, certain framework elements and character models needed to be put on disc. We did something similar with DIRT BLOCK and DIRT BLOCK in DIRT BLOCK 2."

Yeah, EA, you'd love to get your hands on some of that minecraft money, wouldn't you?

Letros5172d ago

lol! I was thinking the same thing, $ signs and EA peeks interest, nevermind that it was a brilliant concept from day 1.

I love Notch's response on Twitter:

"I'm sure EA is very successful at monetizing games, but the more we don't do what they would do, the happier I am. #nooffense"

I used to buy cheap games thinking I’d play them later, but I always ended up returning to my favorites. Now I skip the deals unless I know I’ll play the game soon.

This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.

Can’t really expect a 8 year old Roblox kid to go buy resident evil 9 lol

Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.
