With all the recent uproar about the ending to Mass Effect 3, after observing Bioware's forum and Twitter, among others, and seeing how everyone's responding, it's time to talk rationally, namely, will changing the ending actually do any good?

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."
I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed
Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.
So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?
Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

One of the best things about the Mas Effect series is the companions you meet along the way. So here is a tier list of all the companions from Mass Effect!
To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
i dont care for changing the ending, i just wanna know what the hell happened to my squad, and why the hell joker was flying through a mass relay instead of fighting the reapers!
From what I've seen it looks like they're changing it to be the same issue of A/B/C. I don't want an "ending" that's canon, or changed, or a real ending or anything. I want MY ending that is appropriate for MY Shepherd.
They did it with mass effect 2 perfectly. Don't do the hard graft then half your squad die and the last level is a bitch. Why not the EXACT same concept with reapers. Oh look you've done ALL the work - the reapers die Earth is saved. Done some of it? Maybe you've not secured ground defence? Well then you lose.... Switzerland. Bam, gone, no more chocolate. Did nothing? Then kaboom no more Earth or severely glassed Earth! I don't think mass effect has canon paths for the story. It should just be whatever is appropriate to your decisions.
One of the things bothering me the most is how much the current endings are thrown in the face of all our previous decisions. The "best" ending, and the only one in which Shepard can survive forces you to
(Spoilers)
Kill off the Geth and EDI arbitrarily. Whatever happened to all the work to unite AI and organic of three whole games? Shepard doesn't voice a word of disagreement?
If Shepard must die, then fine, I don't have to like it, but it isn't bad writing. I can't agree with the way every ending either disregards all choice and theme from the rest of the story, or comes completely out of left field with little to no connection to the story (Synthesis).
It just doesn't feel like Shepard, or Mass Effect.
Fingers crossed for Indoctrination theory. I would give Bioware a lot of respect for that.
The damage has already been done, hopefully people don't buy biocrap games anymore, who am I kidding, they'll buy more and get crapped on more than last time.
im not happy with the ending, but im not mad at bioware, overall they made one of the best games ive played this gen, sure there was some poor decisions but im pretty happy to bet EA was behind them.
bioware are the masters at what they do, its just a pitty EA is pulling the strings, they must feel like they are working for cerberus.
