Wii is only $150, and that's when its not on sale for less, which is usually the case.

There are a LOT of kids who want to play video games, and their parents only concern is "how much is that gonna cost me?" as opposed to "Video games, eh? I sure want to give Johnny the best gaming experience possible".

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii re-purchase rate was higher than other consoles as well, since they are more likely to be handled by children, and thus they are more likely to get damaged from liquids, junk caught in the drive, overheated from bad airflow, or just bashed around in general from all the high-energy Wiimote hopping kids do.

Marketing to kids is Nintendo's forte, and you can see it with the Wii's continued sales, just as you could with the PS2 long after it was "dead".

Absolute proof that marketing is important, perhaps just as important as the quality of your product in some cases.

Ulf, you are absolutely correct in a sense, but also consider how much Wii sold when it was $250. Nintendo created a HUGE buzz and Sony hasn't so much yet.

Wii is a home console, Vita is ... a handheld that cannot compete with smartphones, tablets and the Ipad3

The Vita doesn't have enough games yet to compel a lot of people to buy it and the price is currently a barrier to some but both issue will be remedied down the line, its the nature of the console business.

If Sony can bring more apps and make something out of the PS Suite then all for the better. Its up to them to deliver and capture the imagination of the market while justifying the purchase of the early adopters.

Im 22 and have a 3ds i have 5 other friends who are my age that have one and like 6 others who are near their 30s who have one. None of us have the vita yet. but once I get it I will play them both just as much. I don't see many kids with a 3ds. So far all I have seen are people my age. I love my 3ds just as I am sure to love the vita.

Just on a side note Ive played uncharted vita and sml3d both for more than an hour at gamestop lol. I would still pick sml3d over it. However that gravity rush game was something i could really get into.

Don't take what I said negatively my friend, I'm a supporter of the dedicated handheld gaming market and that includes the Vita.

I'm also a proud owner of a Vita, what I'm just saying is, like any other console, the games will come but right now there is really not enough to attract all gamers from all sides of the market (YET!) because everyone has different taste in games.

Its just up to Sony to deliver the goods and make everyone believe.
