Just got to the rape scene in Silent Hill 2 HD. Yes, it's still in there. Is it shorter or whatever? Maybe. But it's there.

It looks like they cut out the first 2 seconds of the original rape scene

I feel like that scene, though disturbing, is important. If they made an HD collection, they should keep things the way they are and improve graphics and glitches. I wish Konami would realize that even if the voice acting is crappy, it still makes part of the experience.

I don't think everyone is angry over the 2-3seconds of thrusting that was cut.
It's the whole principle of why.
Why was there a need to alter the original material, & to what purpose did it serve?

I'm presuming that there are other scenes that may've been slightly cut, but only gamers who are familiar with the original will notice.
It's definitely not a matter of censorship. If so, the whole scene would've been cut. & I have'nt seen what rating it is yet (whether its rated Teen or M), but maybe that small portion of the scene is enough to up or lower the rating. Don't know.

But again; it's not about what or how much was cut, it's about why the necessity.
Also, is things like this going to become a norm?
If so, then don't trade in your originals for these 'upgraded' versions. They may be compact & pretty, but you may come up shorter than you expect.

Is it just me or are "Gamers" (and I quote this cause they aren't really defining the term any longer)full of complaints? I mean really its not even like they took out the entire scene it was about 2 seconds of it. While I wonder why as well, it wouldn't deter me away from buying the game.

im planning to pick this hd collection since im a huge fan of the series and upon reading that some scenes and some glitch issues, it's just disappointing. hope it's just that scene that is missing

Although the scene is short to begin with it later becomes apparent what Pyramid Head represents in the game according to James. The impact of this scene does not become important until late in the game when you figure out the role Pyramid Head plays, so having it cut or edited may hinder the players understanding.

I agree with some of the assessments of this HD collection saying it is a poor adaptation. Remember the game was delayed a few times by Konami without much reasons which led me to believe there were gonna be problems from the get go. Does not matter to me cause i still own the original games & for me personally that is where the true experience lies.

I ranted earlier in the comments, but the bigger question is: why the FUCK are there issues with framerate and lip syncing in the first place? How do you fuck that up?

Can someone just answer something for me, when they announced that the voice cast had changed......... i wasnt happy at all infact i didnt want to buy the game.....but then they announced(pretty sure they did) that it was to have the origional voice cast, can someone comfirm this for me?

They cut a very small part of it. I am not worried about it. If they cut it completely that would be a different story.

Not sure why it was edited but something like this does not detract from a fine game like silent hill 2. I just wish it was standard to include the original version of the game with every HD re-release/remake.

If this is true, I won't buy the game.

A gameplay scene where you get into an airport and kill innocents in a game 13 years kids play is ok. A video where a bomb kills innocents and kids in a game 13 years kids play is ok. A short scene of rape between monsters in a terror game only grown up people play for the sake of nostalgia (I tried, 13 years old kids just said "poor graphics") is not ok.

Hi I just want to say this story is completely FALSE. I can assure everyone, no content was edited out of Silent Hill HD Collection. I can say this with 100% authority, because I produced the game.

There is however, a 1-2 second hitch in the loading of that scene which is black, and then it fades into the actual scene, but aside from that the entire scene is depicted. ABSOLUTELY NO CONTENT WAS CENSORED FROM THIS GAME.

People should actually check the scene posted, it's true that it is edited (half of it is gone) but it's NOT removed. Still there, still rape, still Silent Hill.

If you never played or finished Silent Hill, BUY it!
It's a great franchise & you can't go wrong.

If you've finished or experienced the originals, RENT the collection!
Oogle at the graphical enhancements, basken the new voice acting, & check for 'whatever is new'.

We'll all have a silent ol' time & everyone is happy.

Me, personally; I'm gonna rent. I was fortunate enough to experience & finish the originals, & while the HD collection is übersexy, I would basically just be observing it from the "what's new" view, nothing more,- oh, & nostalgic fun.

Now, if they were including never before seen scenes, then...

I was about 12 years old when I played this. Therefore, I was too terrified overall to even know what was going on. That said, they don't make 'em like this anymore. Great series.

Honestly I could less about this because I noticed right off the bat as well but didn't feel the urge to complain about it. What does irk me is the fact that after the prison level when you go down the elevator. There is the room with the two ladders to choose from and I picked the left, ran back up because of Pyramid Head so I took the other ladder.......

Game screen went black like I was running around in the abyss. Finally saw my guy and thought I could fanagle a way out but to no avail didn't and turned the game off. I've beaten this game so many times in the past 11 years that I don't need no damn trophies and I now consider this a waste of my money.
