Another Mass Effect Debacle

One of the cross-promotional deals with the latest Mass Effect game is that the Galactic Readiness Rating can be upped by utilizing two apps on the iOS, Mass Effect Infiltrator and Mass Effect Datapad. But what happens when the ability to link a gamertag and EA account goes terribly wrong?

I've yet to play any of them (yet I own the first 2 on the PC). With all of this hate going on is it worth even starting them?

--Onilink--5095d ago

yeah, it definetely is, expect everything except the last 5min of the franchise to be truly great, then just make up a new ending in your head to try to forget all the non-sense you see in those last 5min

fallacious5095d ago

Yes, the series is definitely worth playing. Even though the ending may not be that satisfactory the journey is awesome.

Christopher5095d ago (Edited 5095d ago )

This.

If I, knowing what I know now, had a choice of playing all of them again, I still would. The ending was disappointing, the first game is still the best IMHO, but the characters themselves are worth it. ME2 and ME3's heavier focus on gunplay doesn't make them bad games, just took more focus away from the game being more of an RPG.

But, they're still good games with an overall story that totals at least 140 hours from ME1 to ME3. Don't let the last 10 minutes of those 140 hours deter you from the rest of it.

First two iterations are amazing, must haves if you ask around.
But under any circumstances DO NOT buy ME3 on PS3. It's shit. I learned it the hard way.

GameOn5095d ago

ME2 was by far the worst for me.

Christopher5095d ago (Edited 5095d ago )

I tried it out on PS3. The graphics weren't bad, but little worse than ME2. What killed it for me were the load times. Holy hell, I stopped as soon as I got to the Citadel on my first trip knowing how often I'd have to change locations on the Citadel alone just to do all the quests. Went right back to the PC version of the game.

hay5095d ago

@cgoodno: Loadings weren't as bad as rest of the issues.
Glitches were dealbreakers for me. Shepard did exorcist(360 head spin), rest of the crew seem to catch it up fast and did the same, I had even whole reapers(fun fact: they are pre-rendered often) disappearing from cutscenes leaving parts of scene on white background.

I'll get to ME3 eventually, but I'm kinda behind on my games. Just started Arkham City.

sikapwach5095d ago

Then you've got another controversial ending to experience before you even start Mass Effect. I loved the ending to AC, but I know a lot of people didn't.

anast448d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine448d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast448d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman448d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast448d ago

He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
