Dragon Age III coming?

The Dragon Age franchise might have another sequel on the way. After the disappointment of Dragon Age II, a lot of people didn’t think that BioWare would have another Dragon Age game in them, but rumours suggest otherwise.

Nah they would have sold it separately for more money. Why mesh together good DLC when you can just buy a company of people and whip them until they do what you want?

Now with even less locations. Just go back to dragonage origins that was a good beginning of the franchise and with 2 it went rockbottom.

Dragon age 1 was made with the PC in mind first, hence they knew that crowd has high expectations. They had to make a complex game. It was later delayed due to porting to console. However the basics were made laid up as a PC game in mind.

With DA2 though they got greedy. With DA2 they wanted to cater to a wider audience, hence they dumbed the game down. They'd want even 10 year old console gaming kids to be able to pick up the title and play.

Console crowd generally is a safe heaven for developers who dont want to work much and make easy bux. Look at COD every year the same game is released with a new rapper console gamers never get tired of it lol.

us peasant console gamers apologize whole heartedly for dumming your precious PC games down. we are incapable of playing games with more complex battle systems, like the old Final Fantasy games, like the Disgea games. we are incapable of playing difficult, core RPG's like Demon's Souls.

that's why you find all these games only on PC, the master elite race platform.

i want to know why ppl hate on Dragon Age II.. i never played it, i played the first one and never completed it, don't want to finish something broken. i meant in the story not DAO

I loved it for the characters. They were some of the best I have ever seen. The gameplay, story, and levels were some of the worst I have ever seen. I can not begin to tell you how annoying it was to have the dungeons recycled so many times.

I didn't like the original Dragon Age because it felt too easy and dumbed down. The fighting felt too automatic. I didn't even try the second because of the reviews.

EA has killed gutted Bioware. Its all EA now.

Dragon Age 3 could be potentially better. I see their game plan. Make a great game, make a crap game, then make something better than crap to impress everyone.

The same environments for 30 hrs

Even the 2D Prince of Persia had diversity for its time.

Dragon age 2 had one of those endings that made it seem like some serious poop was going down. It's as though the plot line had been planned since dragon age origins. I definitely want to see dragon age 3.

Thing is, some of the quests were quite more interesting in DA II (the one with Hawke's mother was really, disturbingly, awesome) and the combat was improved and more enjoyable as well. However, many things were indeed a step back for the series:

A) Recycled and downright BORING locations (remember how in Origins we could explore a huge expanse of caves and labyrinths in the Dwaren kingdoms, while here we got one lousy excuse of a dungeon... don't get me started on the whole city theme).

B) Enemies spawning each time you revisit a location at night (and adding reinforcements)

C) Dragons weren't even part of the main storyline (they were just put there to justify the "Dragon" Age portion of the title, and NOTHING more)

D) The story telling (of the main story) didn't provide a real END GOAL for the player - it felt like a needless wrap up to a goal no one was expecting... there wasn't any build up nor twist (the end boss kinda came out of no where with zero previous characterization).

E) Having little to no ties to Origins - what bloody happened to all those decisions I made with my Greywarden? Have I played that game for nothing? Ah well... MOVING ON.

F) That's all I can think of right now but you get the jist.

People only have bad things to say about dragon age 2, but the only flaw I could find in that game was the fact that there weren't many places to go.

I am actually one of the few who think the combat and story were pretty good. Anyone who claims they simplified the combat in 2 needs to go back and play dragon age origins again, THEN compare them. Because all they did was make it more fluid. Other than that, they changed nothing. It was always all about using your skills on the right enemies and at the right time and while waiting for your abilities to recharge, just mash the attack button.

And they still have the same tactics system origins had, too. So you could get your mage to heal everyone when they were low on HP or so you could set your other party members to take on different roles within the battle, as the situation demands it. I had no complaints with the battle system.

There could have been unique dungeons in the game: that much is true, they messed up that part. And you spend wayyyy too much time in kirkwall. But other than that, I think it was a really good game.

EDIT: in response to above
A) Covered that, that pissed me off too.

B) I don't see how that could annoy anyone

C) Technically in DA origins you didn't know that the archdemon was a dragon until much later on in the game (Although there were some really obvious clues like the dream etc.)

D) The fight between the mages and the templars was a theme right through the game - you constantly had to make decisions about who to side with. It was painfully obvious that the city was going to be fighting among themselves at the end.

E) Umm, did you see the ending? And all the character cameos?

They made the attacks more repetative. In orogins u target an enemy and ur hero auto shoots him, giving you time to chill and decide a plan of action. Da2 ur just mashing the same attack button repeatedly. They just added in more cool looking animation to the attack to make it look like all that thumb blistering work is paying off. Whole game was bs. They dumbed down da like they dumbed down mass effect.

Anyone that buys Dragon Age III first day is stupid as hell. Bioware has been dead too me every since Dragon Age II and the
Mass Effect 3 backlash/fiasco proves that EA has ruined this once great developer....RIP BIOWARE.

I am one of the people who actually really enjoyed DA2, however I think BioWare should hush up about the game until this whole ME3 thing dies down, because no matter how I look at it people are simply not ready for another BioWare game until this ME3 ending craziness dies down.

On the subject of DA3: I know a lot of people might disagree with me, but I really enjoyed the DA2 storyline, and I loved its characters. I actually liked them better then the characters from Origins.

On the other-hand I am not blind to the games flaws. The recycled environments was certainly an amazingly poor judgement call from BioWare. However one of my biggest pet peeves was the fact that although you found tons of armor throughout the game you couldn't use it on anyone but Hawke. That change made no sense to me at all. Additionally I am not too sure how happy I was with the way they ended everything. It felt like they intentionally left a lot of questions unanswered, so it sort of requires either DLC or another game to wrap up the places in the story that were not finished. Although I would like to see DA3 continue the DA2 storyline I know that a lot of people would rather they go in a different direction.

It kinda feels like no matter what BioWare dose with DA3 people will be disappointed. If they continue to follow the story that they opened with DA2 the DA2 haters will be annoyed, but if they take the story in another direction without answering the questions they left unanswered the fans that actually enjoyed DA2 will be disappointed. It will be interesting to see how BioWare solves this problem. Can they silence the haters, appease the people who are still in shock about the ME3 ending and please both the Origins fans and the DA2 fans? They certainly have their job cut out for them.

i had an awesome time playing the 1st one, i loved it

however when i played the demo for the 2nd one, it was a no go for me sadly...

hope they can return to the Original Dragon age!
