Well one things for sure...they're going to sell us unlock codes for stuff thats already on the disc.

Yi-Long5194d ago

... by now, you'd have to be either a HUGE fan OR plain STUPID to buy a Capcom game on day 1 for full-price.

Capcom makes a habit out of nickel-and-dime scamming their most loyal fans.

Just vote with your wallet and spend your money on a developer who DOES give you a complete product.

aCasualGamer5194d ago

I'll buy it day one. Not because I'm a HUGE Capcom fan but because i'm a HUGE RE fan. I know a store here that sells new games for under 48$.

xkarxfreddy5194d ago

i'll wait for super resident evil 6! :P

StanSmith5193d ago

If you do then you are a fool!

I'll be getting Super Resident Evil 6 Gold Edition!

Or,

Should i wait for Super Resident Evil 6 Golden Arcade Edition? :P

I love how ignorant haters make jokes as if Street Fighter and Resident Evil have the same development teams. Online passes and disc locked content will eventually be adopted by most of the industry. Right now its the only viable way to stop piracy yet, Capcom and EA get crucified for it. I always laugh cuz the ppl that bash it most end up buying the game anyways. I have never felt like Resident Evil was not a good product, so I will continue to show my support... Street Fighter is a whole different story.

Kyosuke_Sanada5193d ago

@ Revolver X

You actually think all of these Nickel and Dime Tactics are used to stop piracy!?

The only viable excuse I can give for your comment is that you have been living under a rock all this time.

Revolver_X_5193d ago

@Kyosuke
ALL these tactics? I addressed online passes and disc locked content. Whatever else your talking about is irrelevant to my comment. Me, living under a rock? Lol. Facts are online passes were set in place as an incentive to buy new and combat Gamestop's incentives to buy used, thats a fact. Disc locked content combats piracy, I cant speak about Xbox Live, but PSN Store can and is hacked everyday. Im not going to supply URL's, google that shit. I work with an asshole that does it all the time. So, yea from personal experience and common sense, I stand by what I said.

hkgamer5193d ago

@revolverx

i guess online passes are a good idea.

online passes and dlc is to stop piracy, but on disc piracy kinda promotes it.
hackers and pirates can easilyunlock that content...
and releasing second editions of games that cannot be updated by dlc just screws the original buyer.

the way how capcom has handled dlc is terrible this gen..
sfiv could have easily had a few gb dlc to super, i wouldn't mind paying a high price for that.
re released gold version and if iam correct was the only one compatible with move, so if you wanted to use move with re you had to buy game again.

Oh well, dont buy a used game big deal.Spend 60 dollars for teh game with the money going to the stores and the devloper or just buy a used game for 56 dollars and give it all to gamestop....

jwk945193d ago

yes, because scamming the customer surely stops piracy and used game sales.

chadachada1235193d ago

What...what the fuck does Knush's comment have to do with used game sales?

YodaCracker5194d ago (Edited 5194d ago )

Boo!

Hiss!

Hicken5194d ago

Don't do it, Capcom. It ain't worth it.

Then again, with this new breed of "gamers" who justify anything companies do, it just might be...

Rageanitus5194d ago

I don't believe online pass is an issue at all, been a gamer since the Nintendo Entertainment system/Gameboy. And games are bought because they are good.

If the product is good I'm going to buy it brand new which includes the online pass.

I don't support the online pass but I do not object it either. It is just a way for developers to protect their revenue for the resale of games found in stores like gamestop.

What boggles me is consumers are wiling to save only 5 dollars per a game to buy a used copy.

glopez5193d ago

Oh come on!!! The $5 less argument is about as stupid as " the online pass is needed, when a person buys used that's a extra player on our servers." I buy used games as well as new. A game like enslaved I buy used, after it drops in price. A game like folklore or valkiria chronicles I buy new. Used is not just 5 bucks less. I also get the power rewards discount. 2 for 1 ect, ect. I guess im a dying breed in the gaming world. A guy who use to play complete games, but we're too few now. The ADHD generation buys anything the companies bring out. My parents raised me better than that though. You work hard for your money so get your money's worth. But my generation is using video games to raise there kids so they will buy them anything to shut them up. So sad how thing have become.

End rant

Revolver_X_5193d ago

@glopez your so naive. The problem is you look at it from your point of view, and actually have the nerve to damn the game company. Scenario 1: You buy a new game at Gamestop for $60. The game company gets there money, while Gamestop gets a cut for being an outlet. Scenario 2: You go to pick up a game 1 week after its release. You pick up a new copy, then a Gamestop employee informs you, you can save $5 buying it used. You buy it used to save $5. Gamestop gets 100% profit, yet the industry is the greedy ones. I was around when Gamestop got huge. There wasnt always some reward card in place. That reward BS was created as an incentive to give Gamestop 100% of your money. I think Gamestop is perfectly fine getting 100% profit on resold games, but when Gamestop employees intentionally entices a consumer to buy used that cuts in on the game companies profit. You can sit there and tell yourself whatever you need to. Fact is, it's wrong. Essentially consumers brought this on themselves. You wanna talk about being a conscience consumer, then be one!

jwk945193d ago

so what happens when online passes expire? You do realize that these things have expiration dates right?

glopez5193d ago

Revolver, please tell me why the dl games on xbl and psn are the same if not more in price than the disc version. Again the five dollar argument is flawed. Why lock content on the disk? If the practice is so honorable in your eyes, why not announce it on the cover. If its not wrong then they shouldn't have to hide it, but then I guess that's just me being naive, right?

HarryMasonHerpderp5194d ago (Edited 5194d ago )

Oh man its inevitable.
Most games coming out from now on
will be all about the DLC milking
and online passes and there's nothing we can do about it
except not buy the games and that's not gonna happen
cause that's our hobby and we love them!
its so depressing i cant see things changing for a very
long time.
Also rumours about battlefield 4 being subscription based?
nooooooooo!
Also i never knew you had to pay for players in FIFA with
REAL money! damn it i hate EA and CAPCOM.

Titanz5194d ago

*O_O* (wow).

I know in NHL 12, you can buy packets of NHL playing cards for $2.50, and up (which is ridiculous).

HarryMasonHerpderp5194d ago (Edited 5194d ago )

Yeah not sure if they are extra players
or main players in the game but i saw a
programme about it last night and EA were
ripping people off because they were having problems with the players they bought for online or something.
and all i could think about was
wahhhhhhh? people actually BUY virtual players
with REAL money!? apparently its very popular and EA are making a shit load of money out of it.

Oh….wow, RE6 huh….urm, cool, just what we always wanted.

1Victor501d ago

EW
NOOOOOOOOOO
In what mind make sense to do this with the worse game on the series 🤦🏿

DivineHand125501d ago

I loved Resident Evil 4 back in the day and enjoyed Resident Evil 5 even though I had to do co-op to beat the final boss. Shiva was just too dumb.

Resident Evil 6 on the other hand, was so bad that I stopped playing after an hour in the game. That was before I even played any high-quality single-player games outside of Mass Effect, Portal, and Skyrim. I can't imagine playing RE6 now.

Chances are their next remake will be 5.

Profchaos501d ago

I just don't get why it's already on the platforms via BC unless it's a remake which would piss everyone off as fans are hoping for either the original game or code veronica to get the remake treatment

CrimsonWing69501d ago

Isn’t it already backwards compatible?
