For me online pass does not bother me at all, because I buy my games brand new. If I really liked the game for sure i'm going to buy it new rather than buy it used. It seems that these publishers don't want to lose out potential revenue from recycled games sold in various stores.

If publishers/console makers want to go about this in the right way for future consoles without hurting he consumer much, they should really consider the Blizzard/Battle.net business model.

1) Buy disc from retail and do FULL install on new console/ or download from the store and install
2) link unique licence key to your psn or xbox account
3) Authenticate online every couple months the key with the registered account (so offline play can occur)
4) Do not allow the game to play at the same time if more than 1 device is logged into the account.

With these steps, it still allows the consumer to freely SHARE their games with their inner circle of friends or family. And if the game is GOOD i'm sure your friends will purchase their own licence.

I do not believe gamestop will be buying used games after this, because it becomes useless.

Unfortunatly I see all companies following suit with online passes.
It doesn't really effect me because I nearly always buy my games new, but it's hugely controlling and unfair on people who buy their games used though.
Games companies are getting away with murder compared to ten years ago yet nothing is done to stop them. God knows what they'll be up to ten years from now.

Iv had enough of being ripped off this gen, and CAPCOM are probably the worst for it.

I understand the love for franchises we grew up with. I get it. I do.

But Crapcom needs NEEDS a beatdown by its consumers! Full stop.

You think it's bad now? Development costs for gaming has rising 200-300% since PS1. It costs them sh^t tonnes of coin. So DLC & online passes helps them. I'm not against that. But some offending publishers figured out rather quickly that they could lock content and consumers would think its dlc! Why? Because that's how they advertise it.

That's not what dlc intended to be at the beginning of this gen. But it sure is now.

So, you buy...and next gen you'll be buying endings to games, paying for online, paying for essential dlc or be unviable online in mp competitve games, paying for content that was always essential parts to games we love. Paying for color swaps in SFxT or true ending in FF13-2 is beyond abuse by publishers. Some games most recently force you to buy dlc if you want to plat/cheevo a game!!! RE:ORC is one such game!

It has to stop somewhere....it should be with the worst offender. That offender is Crapcom!

I say this even as I really hope the RE:ORC gets reviewed well. If I get it....it'll be used!

Looks like next gen the only thing we'll be paying for in retail is the crappy B&W instruction manuals. The games themselves people will be paying twice for with online passes on top of that.

I always pictured this as the CEO of EA/Capcom whenever some sucker pays for stuff already on the disc......

I don't care if they do or not. Resident Evil is supposed to be a single player game anyways. Of course, they ruined it by adding all this stupid action garbage all over it. It's no longer a horror game.

There wont be any online pass.. But there will be TONS of on-disk DLC they will sell later to us

Hard pass; also the first time I played RE6 was on XB1. Why the re-release? Unless they gave it a 4k 60fps update. Even with that I would never play it again! Quick Time gameplay with prompts?

RE0 is being remade, and there is a movie being made to go along with it!
