
Sonic producer Takashi Iizuka has dismissed rumours that Sega are making a Sonic Colours follow-up for Wii U.
Last year rumours circulated about Sonic Dimensions Wii U, a successor to Sonic Colours. It was said to take place after Sonic Generations, with Sonic taking on five different personas, each with a different colour and ability. He would use these abilities to defeat Dr Eggman.

SEGA’s Second Division Manager, Osamu Ohashi, wants to surpass Mario by strengthening the Sonic IP.
They can compete but Mario will always win. Mario and Sonic cater to different fans or fans who like both.
Sonic doesn't have to compete though. Both are their own thing, there's plenty of room for them both.
Thing is Sonic despite the bad games is still an icon as big as Mario, probably bigger cause he's seen more in media than Mario. More cartoons, more movies, more memes. So on that end he's good, they just gotta stop making bad games.
Sonic fan game, dubbed Sonic Venture, is a game made completely in Sony's Dreams for the PlayStation 4 and 5.
That looks ridiculous.

Actually looks like he's running rather than being on rails, and the momentum isn't lost either. It would be embarrassing if Frontiers isn't at par with this.

That doesn't really mean anything, if it's not time to unveil it yet and nothing substantial has been 'leaked' then he could just be saying what he is supposed to.
This happens all the time, remember David Jaffe saying he wasn't working on Twisted Metal for the longest time and then poof game is unveiled and he talks about it like crazy until this date.
Sonic Dimensions might be a hoax, but Sonic will still make a Wii U appearance. This is the same producer that said that Sonic was a perfect fit for the Wii U.
