I played Magicka, but I never realized it was the same dev as Helldivers. Makes plenty of sense considering how much friendly fire is in Magicka lol

1 out of 5? wow. Would make sense but the content of your review doe not reflect the score. Out of 17 people i know no one has had a issue starting the game on their PC, might be a issue down to your system. Either way the review doesn't match up to the score........
I have easily over 20 hrs played in Magicka--not a ton but it goes to the point--and I can't specifically recall any technical issues with the game. I realize that, these days more than ever, we are subject to buggy messes at release only to have them patched later, but if you are having trouble getting a piece of software to run at all, I suspect you may have some other issues to investigate.
The majority of your review is relatively positive, until you throw down with the "Unfortunately..." The conclusion, and the resultant score, seem like more of a knee-jerk reaction to a crash than a reasonable evaluation of an experience which, for the most part, was otherwise enjoyable.
Magicka is an inventive game with a sense of humor, bright visuals, and solid controls. It's fun by yourself, and a riot with some friends. Check it out!
