There has been an ungodly amount of gossip swarming around Valve and its rumored ‘Steam Box’ concept, of late. Love or hate it, the idea of a PC-centric platform that bridges the worlds of PC and console gaming is both a novel and intriguing idea. Will it work? That’s remains to be unseen. That being said, is the living room the best place to leverage this merger of worlds? You might be wondering where else it could possibly be fought. What if Valve instead choose to not only attempt to bridge the gap between PC and console gaming, but at the same time narrow the gap between handhelds and consoles?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

Valve should keep out of the hardware market and just support devices that are already available

Valve first talked about Big Picture mode months ago but now it's finally on the verge of release. This is what the "Valve console" rumors were based on, because this provides you with a more console-like interface when using a TV and a controller.

A Valve tablet makes no sense as Valve has no experience making hardware, and tablets are not good for games. Sure you can have fun with Plants vs Zombies on an iPad but you aren't going to play Half-Life 2 with a tablet.
